Ella - Sri Lanaka , View from our hotel room at dawn. This place had the most dynamic climatic conditions, you could see the clouds come rolling in from a distance and the next minute you knnow the entire place is misty with just a few meters visibility and in a few mitues the sun would be out again.
This was taken from a moving car during our trip to Sri Linka back in 2016. Journey from Yalla National Park to Marissa.
Of course I took a burst of images to get the right composition and framing. Just love how well spaced out the couples are from each other.
Really nothing much in post but I choose a panoramic corp.
I think it's time for another Travel trip/ Project. I wish my paid assignments were as interesting as this 😁. Miss that feeling of "shoot what your heart desires". Its never easy getting pretty pictures from commercial / Corporate shoots but I'm always up for the challenge.
Chang Rai - Chang Mai Road Journey - Nothern Thailand.
Tech Notes : D800, 24-70mm , F3.5 1/640, Falsh overhead Camera in HSS mode. Godox AD360 II with 80x80 God...ox Softbox.
Since it was relatively cloudy on most days during our tour in Northern Thailand we did not have a lot of Sun. This was one rare occasion when there was a sunburst and I was in ture HSS mode ( High Speed Sync 1/640).
Sam and Sagar Couple shoot at Al Husn ( Bar Al Jissah).
My preferred reason to convert to B&W is usually when there is heavy contrast or strong elements of design ( lines and arch in this image).
Anantara - Jebel Akhdar, Portrait of Marketing Head, Mr. Firas. Rather than showing a corporate background we decided to shoot in one of their restaurants.
I used a Ring flash LED light for this portrait. The advantage of LED lights are
- you can see the light and position it or the subject to get your desired lighting. ( what you see is what you get)....
- adjust the power of the light in tiny increments and
- you can adjust the colour temperature on the go ( without having to use gels). In this shot I warmed the lights.
Using flash always involves a bit of guesswork and chimping at the back of your camera screen before you get the right lighting and exposure.
The downside to LEDs are :
- it can be a bit annoying if the lights are too bright and
- they cannot match up to the burst of power from a flash.
Havana Salalah - Muriya Project.
I have been shooting Muriya properties both Sifa and Salalah since 2009 and its always a challenge finding new angles and perspectives especially when you've shot the same project over a dozen times.
Rooftops worked for this trip.
I suppose It's great having a Photographer as a friend, its a given he/ she ends up taking those so called 'snap shots' for important events 😂. Thankfully, I love shooting weddings so I have no complaints.
A few clicks from a friends (Clyde and Veera) wedding in Goa - India
