The Hickory Soup Kitchen 250 Race to End Hunger was a huge success last night! There was electricity in the air a soon as we got to the track. We would like to thank the Cars Tour for making this happen, United Sewing for their support, and all the fans for coming out to the race! It was awesome! Our 50/50 raffle winner donated a potion of his winnings back to the Kitchen, and the Cars Tour folks even let the Soup Kitchen's Director Austin Pearce wave the green flag to start the first race. We had a wonderful time, and are grateful for all the support!
This gentleman came into the dining room today and just sat down and started playing the piano. He was awesome! He made our day! Check out this video we shot. The piano he is playing is over 100 years old.

We owe a HUGE Thank You to Hickory Greenway Harvest who came to the Kitchen and added new wood to our spring garden boxes to provide a deeper area for plants roots to grow better.
HGH is awesome! We are grateful for their passion for helping others and commitment to serving so many in our community.
Thank you guys!! You make it happen!

Frye Regional Hospital has been volunteering at the Hickory Soup Kitchen once a month for over a decade! This kind of commitment to community is what makes this town such a great place to live. We are grateful for all of their help, and would like to thank David Asherbranner in particular for being such a wonderful advocate for the less fortunate in our area. You all are the best!!
