Just a quick note (for newcomers especially):

You are on the Hobart Makers "page", where official announcements are made, events are posted, etc.

We also have a "group" called Hobart Makers Community (link below) which is where most of the community action happens. In the group, you can join in the discussion, post new ideas, show us photos of what you're working on, ask questions, etc.

Most of our members have liked the page (to get the event notifications etc.), and have also joined the group (to interact with the other folks). You can do either/or. Cheers!

Hobart Makers Inc. is a year old!

For our normal BBQs, we ask you to BYO meat, but for this special occasion, we'll provide snags, bread, onions and sauces. Just bring your appetite.

We are hoping to run the AGM on this day too, if all goes to plan. More details on that later.

Cheers, see you there!

Michael came up with a great idea: To design and make PCBs for a simple flashing circuit in order to teach people how to solder. So, these are basis of an upcoming soldering workshop, and will also made available for sale as kits. Dates for these things to be announced. So, if you're interested in learning soldering, stay tuned! (And perhaps leave a comment below so we can gauge interest)
First test print on the CTC 3D printer. It's a clone of the makerbot replicator and seems to work well! We're setting it up to run octoprint, letting us send print jobs from our laptops and tablets.
The laser cutter is running and we're making daleks! :)
