WARNING! There is an assit manager “Kasey” that has lied and created extremely dangerous situations. She will call the cops on you. She has a habit of escalation , drawing a crowd , postures and then you off with the threat of cop calling.
I find her an angry woman, abusive to seniors ( on multiple occasions) and one to dish it out.
Everything they sell I can buy on amazon, much cheaper too.
H.D. refuses to manage this employee, from the top down.
I’ve reported them to the bbb, consumer report and next to write a column in our local paper.

A spokesman for Home Depot said in a statement:

“We have a strict policy that only our trained security personnel can pursue and engage shoplifters. We’ve had deaths and serious injury over the years..., and no amount of merchandise is more important than the safety of our associates and customers.

“I think they could have written me up, reprimanded me. But terminate me? That’s pretty strong,” Tinney said.

Tinney said he’s having trouble finding a new job.

“I’m 70 years old. I need to work. I needed that job. I enjoyed working with customers, helping figuring out what they wanted to do. It’s fun,” Tinney said.

I have a strict policy not to shop at places where they fire 70 year old VETERANS for doing what he thought was right. I have spent thousands at Home Depot, no longer. I have already cut up my Home Depot card...Lowes looks pretty damn good right now, I dont mind driving three miles further.

As a New Braunfels homeowner I have always preferred Home Depot to Lowe's, mainly due to its better selection and generally better prices. However, after being employed by HD, I arrived at the undenia...ble conclusion that I much preferred shopping at HD rather than working there. My primary complaint is that HD appears to want to maximize its profits by hiring too few full time employees. Just about every HD shopper has complained at one time or another about the difficulty in locating an employee for assistance. I was hired as a part timer in the lumber department. The zone manager and lumber manager were cordial and helpful. My co-workers, likewise, with a few exceptions. However, one assistant manager was particularly surly and unhelpful. Once I requested that he, a qualified forklift operator, assist me. This resulted in a lecture from him about how he felt that employees who did not learn how to operate a forklift, should be 'fired'. I thought this bizarre, considering that I had been pestering HD for the opportunity to learn how to operate a forklift, without success. On another occasion he scolded me for spending too much time cutting lumber for a customer. This contradicted the lumber manager, who told me to spend as much time as necessary to cut lumber for customers, particularly long time customers. On yet another occasion, I was the only employee working in the lumber department. I spent approximately twenty minutes cutting lumber for a customer, while another waited, somewhat impatiently, for me to load some plywood onto her cart. I explained to her about the lumber staff shortage, and that I would have to locate another employee to assist me. I also gave her the option to help me load the plywood herself, which she readily agreed to do. Afterward the surly assistant manager approached me and said, "what's this I heard, you 'made' a customer help you load lumber?". I reponded that there was no one else to help. The assistant manager repeated his question, and I repeated my answer. He appeared very angry and stormed off. I thought his remark was rather silly; how exactly does one go about forcing a customer to help load a cart? I simply gave her two options, and she chose one. After the the assistant manager's outburst, I 'clocked out', and never returned to HD as an employee, nor as a customer. I was amused that rather than being grateful that a part time employee, without expectation of ever being offered full time status, yet willing to work in the physically demanding lumber department, the assistant manager repeatedly treated me with derision (that's right, even low social status jobs like HD have a status hierarchy within the organization). Couldn't really find what i was looking for & really couldn't find any employees to help me, I re-sorted to my smartphone & tried to look up items by isle & bay (like at lowes) but unfortunately that ...idea failed as h.d. does not offer this extra feature. Needless to say after 25-minutes i just gave up & yep, you guessed it, I went to Lowes & got everything i needed in less than 15-mintues. See More

I have had very little help at this store and experienced some pretty piss-poor customer service. My last visit included a gift card I received recently, and that was the ONLY reason I went back to t...his store. I've even sold all 650 common stock shares because the customer service is lacking in so many areas. I'm a Senior Project Manager for a very large construction firm. We have problems with Home Depot, nationwide, so we have decided to use Lowe's stores, only. I'm sure that all of our 116 sub-contractors feel the same way. Go to Lowe's if you want to find what you need or someone that can speak intelligently about those needs through real products. See More

The customer service in this store is horrible! Employees stand around and will not offer to help you whatsoever. Not just on one occasion, every occasion! We spend 1000s in this store every month, bu...t are quite fed up with the customer service or lack there of. Seguin Home Depot is much better. They will drop what they are doing to offer help. Get it together New Braunfels Home Depot!!!! See More

I've been shopping at this HD for over ten years. They have outgrown their "employee to consumer ratio" and it's virtually impossible to get help in that store. Very troublesome for me personally when... you can't find what you want or need and just leave in frustration. See More

Love the fact that Kane at the New Braunfels, TX location can think outside the box!!! We had to load a 12 foot (approx. 200lb) roll of vinyl flooring and 2 pallets of Laminate Flooring approx (900lb...s each), and all the extras that goes with those materials when the customer only has a 4x8ft utility trailer and room in the back of a 7 seater SUV! He was ABSOLUTELY the most helpful person we have ever met (not meaning that the other folks that helped us weren't helpful~they certainly were) :o) Many many thanks to Kane, we, Mr. & Mrs. Dowell do certainly appreciate your professionalism!!!!
