It is hard to believe that Homer has been missing an entire year now; despite our best efforts and all the help from the community. Thank you all so much, for keeping him in mind and all you've done. I am disappointed that we haven't had any recent good leads but I know that as long as he stays alive there is hope that we can bring him home.

I really wish I had some solid Homer news to report, unfortunately we don't have any recent sightings to go on.

We did, however, get another reply from our Craigslist ad. The name associated with this email is Andrew Collins and the only thing he said was "I know him". I have sent two emails asking for more information but he has not responded...

We just learned of a strictly indoor Himalayan kitty, in the Cross Creek area, that escaped from the house Monday and still hasn't returned. They were recently groomed (body shave) so should be easily recognizable.

This local dog, Roxy, went missing just before Homer. She has been found and returned to her family. Her owner and I have touched based regularly during our months of searching. It was truly amazing to hear from her that day when she found her.

Still hoping! Thanks for continuing to keep an eye out!

There isn't much news on the Homer front lately. We are still hoping for a solid sighting to go on.

We have had some calls; the most notable of which being off of St John's Church rd (not too far from Topsail high school.) We didn't get a call for this lead until the next day unfortunately.

Still hoping. Things everyone!

Lost in the Shaw Hwy/Hwy 210 area of Rocky Point, NC on 1-1-13!

5 yr old, 55-60 lb, black and brown brindle mix with medium to long coat, underbite, and black muzzle. He was wearing a black collar and tags.

There is LOTS of evidence that he is still roaming the area. Thanks for keeping an eye out!!

We are still hoping for a new sighting of him. Our signs are doing a good job of getting peoples attention! We've been able to rule out some leads already and we've had a couple of questionable leads which were not able to get a good look at the dog.

New signs are going up! We need sightings

No automatic alt text available.

If anyone sees any of our flyers looking bad, and have a moment, it would be a big help to take them down. Hunting season starts again soon and we will be doing another big flyer push soon.

Also, we will be getting another round of the corrugated board signs too. They are so effective and we will not have to worry about the mowers soon.

Time and availability of our tracker is a limiting factor. We know Homer is still crossing 210. If we can get a good lead and get our tracker out right away we have a much better chance of getting him.

It is very wet out there but we are still monitoring feeding stations and helping look for tracks in the obvious places. When available, our tracker has been using a 'boarder' method to watch for Homer movement in the area as well as running cross tracks in the area. This has allowed us to better focus our feeding stations by cutting many miles of land out of consideration.

We are still hoping for a trail fresh enough to hone in on him.

The tracker is heading back out today and we hope we did enough out there to keep Homer in the area these past few days. The suspense is making us crazy!

I ruled out the dog/dogs on the base construction sight off hwy 50 in Holly Ridge. They've been seeing two hound dogs which are smaller than Homer. They are keeping a flyer just in case.

We hope Homer stays in the same area tonight!

Sorry the updates are few and far between. We lost track of Homer for a few days but he did rejoined the pack yesterday. They are moving back towards 210 and we expect them to cross in the next few days (possibly even tonight). They will most likely cross during the night or early morning.

Please call if you see any dogs along 210 (especially near the stretch of hwy by the landfill).

On a side note, if you are out looking for Homer please be mindful of where you go and whether or not you have permission to be there. We've worked pretty hard to build and maintain relationships with the hunting clubs and property owners and only a handful of us are approved to be on these properties.
