As Harper celebrates her third Easter, we wanted to help amplify the signal for a heart baby from Northern Minnesota that needs some love and prayers. Please keep Avery and her family in your prayers as you gather with loved ones.
Happy Easter everyone! Avery has been doing her absolute best and gathers a little more strength with each day. We are absolutely in love with her. She is such ...a fighter and we pray so hard that she will continue to get stronger. Her open heart surgery will be this week. There is not a set date yet but they are aiming for Tuesday. We will try to update as we know more. Thank you all so much for your incredible support. Please keep our beautiful baby girl in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you

Happy second birthday to this sweet angel.
I’ve always wanted to be a father and I couldn’t ask for a better daughter. In the last two years, I’ve learned a lo...t about life, love and little girls.
Without a doubt, she is my best friend. She makes me laugh with the comedian she is becoming and I’ve been so blessed to share so many great adventures with her which have gave me wonderful memories of watching her grow. What a ride it has been to have you in my life and I wouldn’t give a day of it up. I love you.

On Thursday Miss Harper had an appointment in the cities with Dr. Vezmar, they did an EKG and an echo. As of right now her little heart is stable, she still has leaking at her mitral valve and at the conduit (pulmonary artery) but it’s mild and expected. Sometime this summer they would like her back down at Children’s for a cardiac cath to properly measure her pressures. Dr. Vezmar will see her the day before the procedure and we will stop her Amio and her Sildenafil - the only way to have an accurate read of her pressures is to stop these two meds. While they are in there they will also look at her conduit and determine when her next open heart will be. If her pressures are good she will be able to stop taking those meds and go home that same day, if the numbers are bad we continue on with the meds and at least an overnight stay.

Tonight, the Keewatin Fire Department hosted its 2nd Annual Sweethearts Dinner for its staff and family.
Harper attended as her dad’s date for the second year and they hope to continue it as an annual tradition. A week before the age of two, she was photographed with her dad’s fire helmet which has her sticker on it.
Today starts American Heart Month and the 7th-14th is CHD Awareness week. Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day, I hope everyone wears that color proudly in honor of all those affected by heart disease or defect. ❤️❤️❤️
💞Children’s Minnesota is the real home of daily “Minnesota Miracles.” we got ours almost two years ago and this teared me up.
Update on the Santa photo contest: Harper did not place in the contest (but hey we tried!). It made our hearts smile that fellow heart family, the Robertsons, won the grand prize with Colten's photo. ❤️
