I have been breaking in this preamp 24/7 since I received it about a week ago. Once I got a feel for its sound signature, I moved it into my big setup which is a $12,000.00 digital front end transport and dac. It is only as good as its source and media played. The initial break-in began with a dvd player just playing music. I then used ...a very good cd player with a tube output stage to compare the music already heard through the week. When I moved it into the big system, playing the same cd's all week with the same amplifier the sound was unbelievably realistic and neutral every time from dvd player to cd player to the big rig dac. It is an amazing passive preamp that proved itself worthy of any system. It is just that musical. The playback speakers used are professional studio monitors to hear every bit of detail and body of the recording. Like I said its a Giant Killer. Those NOS potentiometers must be the magic in your design. Thanks. Mark"

This is a very nice optical to stereo DAC. It uses a USB port to get its power so make sure you have one available. You could use your computer or even your USB charger for power. This comes with a cable to plug into USB and converts to 3.5mm for power. This device sound amazing for the price. Up to 24 bit 96kHz stereo.
