The bell/valet/metro car staff were the highlight of our visit. They were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was old and dirty. Check in was good. The door to our room pushed open without our k...ey and unless it was slammed hard would not lock. Maintenance was useless upon arrival. The picture of the room showed a fireplace. No fireplace. We got a two bedroom suite. I should be called a loft as the bedrooms are not private from the tiny living space. $350 room included one regular and one decaf kcup. Additionalcups were $1 each. As mentioned in other reviews, the salt pool is still not open. Upon checkout we notified front desk of our frustrations and she couldn't have cared less. Will never stay at this hotel again, not for a quarter of the price. I feel I was scammed. See More

The room they put my wife and I in faced a nightclub that blared heavy bass until 2:30 AM with enough volume to be heard over the tv in the room and enough to shake the floor/bed. The nightclub also b...lasts flashing colored lights out their open windows directly into the windows of the rooms in the hotel and the windows don't have long enough blinds to close all the way, so hopefully you can sleep with colored strobe lights shining in your window.

When the front desk was told about this, they said they were fully booked and couldn't move us to another room. Honestly the fact that they even continue to book room 212 is a crime. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I wish less stars was an option. No refund offered. Horrible management and place to stay. There are a multitude of better options. There's zero reason to ever give this place your business.

A little run down since the last time I stayed here. But kind of charming. The suites make you feel like you are in your own apartment. But you still have all the amenities. Request the 6th floor. Oth...erwise you may hear your upstairs neighbors. See More

I’ve eaten at the restaurant before and food was good on last night, food was burnt, the steak wasn’t the right cut...(I was given filet mignon which I hate) and my husband ordered medium well and it ...was damn near rare in the inside. Took forever to get the food. Bartender was very attentive though that was the best part of the night. He rectified the situation. Probably won’t be eating here anymore. See More

My daughter booked her reservation specifically because of the roof top hot tub featured on the hotel's web site. After checking in, she found that the hot tub was empty, covered with yellow "caution"... tape. She was told by a staff member that the hot tub had not been working fo months. The front desk never was successful in contacting the manager concerning a cost reduction, or so she was told. My daughter did receive a puny $50.00 credit on her $600+ bill after he two day stay. Those reading this posting should be aware that the hotel's web site is inaccurate. See More

A great place to stay if you have no plans to sleep. The music from the club downstairs is so loud a tv and noise maker combined doesn’t cover up the sound. The bass is pumping so loud we can’t sleep.... Ridiculous!!! See More

So room was clean. Valet was attentive and quick. Restraunt staff were excellent for Sunday breakfast. However the sauna, rain shower and roof top jacuzzi were closed. No one notified the two rooms were booked yesterday in to today!!! If your going to charge that kind of price then make sure EVERYTHING works, if not notify your customers !!! Check in staff were clueless as well, stating the website did not show the sauna and rain shower, sorry you are wrong and still does !!!Not good business! Also the hotel owner may want to update your windows as you can hear EVERYTHING outside at 2-3am. Doesn't make for a quite stay overnight ... FYI management we stayed in 501 and 503 and both rooms need some TLC when it comes to updating of your windows and hopefully management will address this comment! You won't stay a float with return business if the cliental aren't happy. Unfortunately word of mouth travels.... reimbursing the Rutkowski credit card would behoove your establishment !! Front desk person was rude. Double charged room and would do nothing to help. Acted like it was our fault. I’d never recommend this hotel to anyone again.

The room was very large for a standard! Had the cassoulet for breakfast and it was super tasty!

Great place, neat design, staff is generally friendly. Expensive Mini-bar. Delicious food in their restaurant.

Hotel Metro - Milwaukee, WI is the biggest fucking joke of a hotel I've ever had the experience of dealing with. They double charged me for a room and I've been more than patient for waiting on a refu...nd. They initially told me 3-4 days. It's been a total of 10 business days now. The room stay was on April 1st. Neither manager or sales person is in for the entire weekend as of yesterday and they have no secondary person in charge. They've just gave me a run around every time I've called. Beyond livid. See More

If you have the option to choose this hotel against anything else, choose the other option.

We were in town for a wedding and stayed in room 501, a jacuzzi suite, the room smelled horrible, unable open any windows (because it's "historic", aka, the windows were locked in by another pane of glass) and we asked to be moved. We were moved to a different room, thankfully it didn't smell like a truck stop bathroom like the previous room. When we checked out we were told a manager would call us on Monday to discuss our stay.

After not being called, I finally called them and left numerous messages with the front desk, Roman the GM, Natasha the manager, still nothing but an email saying they can't do anything for us. The total for the evening was upwards of $350 that night between the room, valet, dinner and breakfast at their restaurant and taxes, and we can't even get a call back from the manager.

Not only was the room a one star but the customer service is a negative five stars. I honestly can't remember a more horrible experience and to pay that kind of money and not even get a courtesy call back, is the most disappointing of it all.

If you choose to stay there, enter at your risk, but don't be surprised if you come away disappointed. The only bright spot of the entire experience was Ryan, the valet who was nice, helpful and overall, represented the customer service you would expect from a place that charges that much per night. Needless to say, Hotel Metro will never get our business again.

We stayed here in 2004 on our wedding night. Since we were back in Milwaukee, we decided to spend a night away again. It was ok, but not as nice as we remembered. The first person to help us from ...the front desk staff was curt, and not as helpful as I am accustomed to at upscale hotels. The second person we spoke to was much nicer. The finishes felt a little run down, and all the pillows were so plump they hurt your neck.

Still a cool historic building with retro decor. We enjoyed the jetted tub and fireplace. It was very clean. We walked to a fantastic dinner at Distil on the same block.

After being seated... it took almost 40 mins to served... once food came out it was a horror story... cold, dried out food... and then to top it off the wrong food came to me. And to wait another 10 m...ins for an order that I took a couple bites out of... in the past I visited during the week ( working downtown) , but service on Saturday December 10, not even worth a revisit.. wait staff tried to help out manager came out, but damage was already done See More

We had to wait entirely too long to be served. Once we placed order the food took so long to come out that when we received meal the food was cold and burnt past recognition. It would have been a grea...t experience had the wait wasn't so long, and the food would've been edible. It was bad, and I can't get those 3 hours of my life back. It was a Saturday brunch from hell. This hotel has a very cool retro-hollywood feel. The rooms themselves are modern and full of amenities. Location is great with being right downtown, good proximity to nice restaurants and things to se...e. There's also a very relaxing hot tub and sauna on the top floor that overlooks the city.

Definitely would stay here again!
