What is Loves it okay Good morning good morning good morning Great morning uh so excited to be here today my name is rosa angela I represent the third district of Connecticut um I wanna say thank you to all of you for joining us this morning uh I can't tell you how proud I am to stand with my colleagues with our champions and our leader Speaker Nancy pelosi I wanna say thank you to the folks the champions and the on the riser here uh the organizations and individuals who never flagged for a moment and advocating for equal pay for equal work today we're The paycheck fairness act a bill that has the support of every Democratic member of our caucus and one Regrets about a Senate colleague patty modeling group hosted a companion um legislation uh in the Senate and I might add there are 47 uh Senate Democrats uh on the legislation there as well uh and uh uh lord knows we've been in this fight side by side for uh for many years um I want you I will try to move quickly we have a um a wonderful group of people who are just speaking and also other colleagues who are here to support us uh in this effort um we have uh our majority leader We have the chairman of the labor Committee Bobby smith's alma Adams of edge of labour eyes Bobby Scott Anyway Bobby Scott Quickly here's some uh some of the Democratic women's working group uh lois frankel uh and brenda lawrence and jackie spear by believe California here an alexandria a casio cortez as well uh different visions of the American Association of you uh University of women emily Martin of the National women's law Center and debra ness of the National partnership for women and families and of course really led better fulfill She led the way Say thank you to adriana hutchings from Washington state and thank you for your courage and standing up and telling your story today uh yes we have a long program today am I going to apologize for that no No because we can make history if you look and you listen to our speakers and says everything about the history that we will make for more than two decades we pushed her battle to strengthen the 19 63 equal pay act we battled to elevate pay discrimination to emphasize how nothing is more right and nothing would make more of a difference to working families in this country I cannot tell you how difficult it has been to breakthrough and something so simple that men and women In the same job deserve the same pain that's what this
