Zero Discrimination Day - Health Care for All
Mr. H is covered in all kinds of butterflies today, but to no surprise! Mr. H partners with over 160 different countries to provide laboratory diagnostics worldwide and hopes that HUMAN’s efforts will also help to battle discrimination. After all, the most fatal diseases like malaria, tuberculosis and HIV disproportionately affect the world’s poorest populations and are worsened by other inequities regarding gender, age, migration status etc.
For Zero Discrimination Day, Mr. H would like to challenge you to recognize where everyday discrimination takes place and to take action to stop it. #ZeroDiscriminationDay #HealthCareForAll #HUMANDiagnostics
HumaCount 5D – Just One Drop of Blood for Accurate Results
Physicians generally ask for results of venous samples since the accuracy is by far higher than for capillary blood due to the dilution of capillary samples. However, the same accuracy is now possible with capillary blood processed by OptimalCount Technology where only 20 µl blood collected by a capillary tube is needed to guarantee an accurate 5-part diff result. The capillary mode is of high interest not only for children, but also for screening adults, e.g. as check-up options with one drop of blood.

World Cancer Day 2018
This year alone, nearly 8 million people will die of cancer, and left unchecked, the number of deaths will increase to 13.2 million per year by 2030. This year’s World Cancer tagline, ‘We Can. I Can.’ reminds us that we can collectively and individually reduce the global burden of cancer. Whether it be creating healthy schools and workplaces, improving access to cancer care, promoting early detection – you can make a difference.
HUMAN also promotes ear...ly detection with its rapid test for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer – the 3rd most common cancer worldwide. Check out our well-known occult blood test, Hexagon OBTI and help early detection, as the 5-year survival rate is about 90% when colorectal cancer is detected before it has spread. With results in 5 minutes, Hexagon OBTI is a real “rapid” screening test.

National Aids Council in Zimbabwe – HUMAN joins the fight against AIDS
With the help of the Minister of Health & Child Care, Dr.P.D Parirenyatwa, HUMAN replaced 12 HumaStar 180’s with new HumaStar 200’s for the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe (NAC). On this occasion, HUMAN together with the Diagnostic Laboratory Service (DLS) schooled 12 NAC end-users that will be responsible for the HumaStar 200’s in 12 different laboratories around the country. What a great reminder that eliminating AIDS requires efforts on many fronts! #StopAids #HIV #LetsEndIt
Mr. H continues his travels in South America visiting the gorgeous ice capped peaks of Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina. The winter can be cold and stormy, but it also has its beautiful side – beauty is often in hidden places, you only need a change of perspective.
HUMAN @ ICASA, the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa
We met with visitors from all over Africa in Abidjan, Ivory Cost at the biggest AIDS conference in Africa striving to reach the 90-90-90 UNAIDS target.
As AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) are often co-infectious diseases, HUMAN’s HumaLoop drew in visitors to see live demonstrations. The risk of developing TB is estimated to be between 16-27 times greater in people living with HIV than among those without HIV infection.

Another important milestone for better access of Tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic reached!
We are proud to inform you that our World Health Organization (WHO) recommended TB-LAMP products are now listed in the Global Drug Facility (GDF) catalog.
The GDF is a key mechanism of the Stop TB Partnership that offers nations a full range of high quality drugs and diagnostic tools at reasonable prices. This is leading the way to a world without tuberculosis, a disease that is curable, b...ut still kills three people every minute.
With the inclusion of HUMAN’s TB-LAMP products, countries around the world will get better access to sensitive TB diagnostics and support in their fight to end TB.
Find out more about the GDF or the Stop TB campaign by visiting www.stoptb.org (publishing of the products in the GDF online catalog is foreseen in Q1 2018).

Sprinting, fighting and sweating all for a good cause…
It seems like just a few weeks ago that we met with our partners from 100 nations and cheered each other on all for a great cause. During our international Distributor Meeting, we not only exchanged ideas and learned from each other at seminars, workshops and presentations, but we also knitted our global teamwork more tightly as we gave our all at the Beach Game Challenge. Sweating together, we are also shaping the future together as we raised €10,000 for Smiling Children e.V.! http://www.smiling-children.org
