The best coffeehouse in town. That includes the performers, the sound, the audiences and the refreshments. First went there in the early 80's.

This video also includes a brief chat about Kate and Corey's efforts as musicians. Success doesn't happen over night, folks, but these two have certainly been paying their dues. Fun Song, great voices, and a good example of why these two are going to make it in the music world.

Not only fasinating to watch but amazing use and tecnique out of a simple instrument. Kevin Spear's mastery and versatility of his craft is nothing short of inspirational.

The Hungry Ear Coffee House is excited to present to you - the May 5th Music Listening Room Concert - featuring Matthew Kahler and Jimmy Robinson!

MATTHEW KAHLER:
Georgia native, Matthew Kahler has been writing songs ever since he was sharing a house with his large family in Albany, Georgia. Drumming on anything that made sound and singing aloud was one way to get noticed in a family with nine children. In the early '90s Matthew made his way to Atlanta and became a part of... the small group of singer songwriters who helped form the now legendary community of indie music, put together by Eddie Owen of Eddie's Attic fame. Matthew, Shawn Mullins, the Indigo Girls, Jennifer Nettles, Clay Cook, John Mayer, Andy Offutt Irwin and more started what we now think of as Georgia indie music at its finest. Matthew is so respected among his peers that he receives accolades from John Mayer saying that "Matthew has written some of my favorite lines." Kristian Bush of Sugarland calls Matthew "the unleashed one," and Zac Brown recalls that, Matthew Kahler is one of the reasons I started songwriting". Kahler is and has been a performer's performer, a writers writer. Live, off the cuff, out of control and within 3 feet of a mic stand is where he's at his best.
