Super excited to be at AUM Productions - ॐ Wizard of Oz themed NYE event! Will be taking some photos later on today, the festival team are working super hard and our home prep crew are having a rest (as in we got to wake at 9am instead of 6am) and now we're ready to see how many more people are flooding into the event! Yesterday there were 2000 through the gate, and we bet there'll be more tonight.
If you're looking for plans and don't mind travelling for something spectacular come and visit us at Aum! You can buy a ticket for just tonight or you can camp there too
Another good reason why we love AUM Productions - ॐ
Who is going again this year? x
NO GENDER EQUALITY IN NZ NYE FESTIVALS? Try AUM.
Interesting article here in Stuff.co.nz about the lack of women musicians in festivals. It only talks about the... bigger events here (we are only allowing 3000 on site this year compared with the 25000 of R&V and the 10000+ of the others mentioned) but I thought it was worth mentioning that whilst we are not at 50% yet, we are running at double the 10% stated as standard with other New Years Eve festivals. Currently out of the 70 artists we have billed, 14 are women, that's a ratio of 20% for AUM ॐ NYE 2017 - Auckland's New Years Eve camping festival - and I there are a couple more we haven't released yet.
I will also note that almost our entire festival management team are women. This includes our co-director/owner, project manager, artist manager, vendor coordinator, gate & ticketing manager, on-site production coordinator, volunteer coordinator, info booth coordinator and visual arts curator with only 2 men being in the team at the same level. One in sound and one in site infrastructure. I will also mention that the LGBT+ part of our community is also represented in our family.
Also, for this Saturday's concert at Corbans AUM ॐ - The Eclectic Garden with Deep Forest & Gaudi the ratio is 40% female with the only male person on staff for the show being me.
So not only is AUM Productions - ॐ the only camping festival this New Years Eve properly catering to children and families, with some of the most unique artistic production and theme, and being Auckland's only NYE camping festival, we are leading the way with inclusiveness. I assure you this will only grow from here too.
One of the most important things to us at Aum Productions is inclusiveness and it is really heartening to see that we are matching our stride and achieving the goals we set.

Sustainability is very important to us - as much so as health! Hungry for Raw use mainly organic brown rice syrup because it is low GI and has an amazingly full flavour without being too sweet. We also use coconut sugar sparingly, for a natural dry sugar alternative. It contains fructose but is still low GI. We reckon it tastes better too. And now we've learnt it's also sustainable! Palm sugar is similar but not the same - it comes from date palms, not coconut palms.
