Our colleague and friend, Bryce Waldman, was born with a rare genetic disorder called "Dedicator of Cytokinesis 8" - or DOCK8 for short. This disease, which causes bone infections, skin lesions and pneumonia, severely compromised Bryce's immune system. Bryce's only chance of defeating the disorder was through an experimental procedure - a bone marrow transplant that had yet to be proven effective in treating DOCK8. To have the transplant, Bryce would need to find a matching b...one marrow donor. He joined Be The Match, a bone marrow registry that connects people with autoimmune diseases to matching donors. BeTheMatch helped Bryce locate his only matching donor in the world - a 50-year-old man in Dusseldorf, German. The procedure was a success and Bryce has been living DOCK8-free ever since. Thank you to all of our employees for joining BeTheMatch's bone marrow drive. Your donation could save a life!
