We’re delighted to announce that the brilliant Sian Williams will be ITN’s first mental health champion.
Our champions are volunteers from across ITN who will be taught how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, providing help on a ‘first aid’ basis and guiding those in need towards the right support services.
ITN's mental health champions initiative follows the success of our Mental Health Week earlier this year, a series of talks and events for ...staff held in partnership with Rethink Mental Illness.
Sian Williams is already a trained assessor and has an MSc in Psychology with a focus on trauma, recovery and healing and has made many training films for journalists, helping them to recognise mental health issues in themselves and others. Her recently published book 'Rise: Surviving and Thriving After Trauma', explores resilience, using both personal experiences and scientific research.
ITN is fully committed to supporting good mental health in the workplace and is proud to be an accredited Mindful Employer.
Here are some snaps from Friday's bake sale as part of Mental Health Week at ITN. Together we raised over £600 for mental health charities Rethink Mental Illness and Mindapples. A huge thank you to all those who took part baking, buying and selling these tasty cakes!
