Fantastic hospitality from the Bay of Plenty SuperBlues today - thank you for inviting me Todd Muller MP! I took the opportunity to talk about my previous role as Spokesperson for Seniors, as well as the important contribution "old white men" can bring to company boards - something the current Minister for Women may be struggling to understand!

Had the opportunity to briefly chat to President Barack Obama this morning and welcome him to New Zealand. He's having a great time here being shown around by John Key, but isn't so sure about his counting on the golf course.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck-in with my two new spokesperson portfolios: fisheries and racing.

Regarding fisheries, it is essential that our fishing industry continues developing sustainable practices, ensuring our oceans are fit-for-purpose for future generations.

Our climate for horse breeding in New Zealand is the envy of other nations across the world, and our many success stories are a testament to this. Championing these successes and building on them are key ...to the industry’s future success.

2018 will bring with it many opportunities and challenges. I am excited to be a member of a team who are a government-in-waiting, ready to tackle 2020 head-on.
