A great day at Boyer Park on the Snake River with Washington Senate Majority Leader Mark Schoesler and other local and state leaders as part of the celebration of our rivers and local economies dependent on them. Thank you to the many sponsors for a wonderful day and jet boat ride through the locks at Lower Granite Dam.
Representative Kingsley speaking to SOBERIDAHO tonight in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Capitol. This event is about keeping solid bridges to recovery throughout the state. Thank you sponsors and attendees for your work.
I enjoyed spending time with students today as part of the 4-H Know Your Government Conference in Boise. Representative Amador and I joined in a mock bill presentation. We all had fun and learned something about the legislative bill process.
Well I attended a meeting in the Key Bank building today and I met this Caldwell firefighter training for the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He climbs the stairs in full structural firefighter gear and will do this for 69 floors in Seattle's tallest building during competition. He looked tired and determined. Good luck my friend and thank you for your service.
The homeschooling families of Idaho descended on the Capitol today for their annual "Pie Day" with legislators. Here the Vrieling family of Lewiston shared their school projects on the solar system and the planet Mars. I am grateful for their hard work and dedication to quality education.
Today I enjoyed lunch with students from Nezperce at the Cenarrusa FFA Day On the Hill. I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded the "Friend of Co-ops" from the Idaho Cooperative Council for outstanding leadership shown to cooperatives in Idaho. Thank you CHS Primeland for nominating me to receive the award!
Morgan is interning for me this legislative session and has been responsible for preparing and presenting three pieces of legislation already. She is doing a great job and earning college credit toward her agriculture degree. Congratulations!
Today I was awarded the 'Legislator of the Year 2016' in recognition of my efforts toward quality soil and water conservation in Idaho by the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts. Wow! Thank you for your generosity and kind recognition. We have much more good work to do.
