Iker Casillas (Madrid, Móstoles, 20 de mayo de 1981) es el actual guardameta del FC Porto y de la Selección de Fútbol de España, con la que obtuvo el título de ...la Eurocopa 2008 y la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Sudáfrica 2010.

Hasta julio de 2015 fue el portero y capitán del Real Madrid, de la Primera División de España,
Hasta entonces, llevaba toda la vida en el Real Madrid. Su andadura en el club blanco dio comienzo desde abajo, en los benjamines, en la temporada 1990/91. Desde entonces fue ascendiendo poco a poco y pasó por todas las categorías inferiores. Compaginando la titularidad en sus equipos y en los diferentes escalafones internacionales llegó en la temporada 1999/2000 a la primera plantilla blanca.

Con el Real Madrid lo ha ganado prácticamente todo. Con la Selección participó de forma decisiva en la conquista de la Eurocopa de 2008 en Austria y Suiza y en el Mundial de Sudáfrica 2010, donde fue uno de los héroes del torneo. Es el capitán y uno de los líderes del equipo, donde impone su profesionalidad y amor por el club. Portero ágil, rápido de reflejos, listo y casi imbatible en el uno contra uno, ya es un grito unánime el de quienes le consideran el mejor guardameta del mundo.



Iker Casillas Fernández (born 20 May 1981) is a World Cup-winning Spanish goalkeeper who plays for Oporto FC club and serves as captain for both the Spanish national team.

Until July 2015 he was the goalkeeper and captain of the Real Madrid FC.

He led a young Spanish team to their first European Championship in 44 years, his first senior international honour. In 2010, he led Spain to their first ever FIFA World Cup and won the Golden Glove for the tournament's best goalkeeper.

Since bursting onto the scene as a teenager, Casillas has been recognised as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, illustrated by the many awards he has received. He was nominated for the European Footballer of the Year award twice, ranking fourth overall in 2008 and continuing to be the highest-ranked goalkeeper again in 2009.

At the end of 2009 he was voted into the UEFA Team of the Year for the third consecutive time. As of July 2010 Casillas is one of a very select group of players who have won all major club and national championship titles. In 2010, he was awarded with the Sports Prince of Asturias Award. On 19 October 2010, Casillas became the most capped goalkeeper of all time in the UEFA Champions League.
