5 Impalas raced in the JOG Nab Tower race at the weekend - read Imptish's report here! http://www.impala28.co.uk/jog-nab-tower-2018-race-report/
Good work Magic!
Magic started 2018 in glorious but rather cold and soggy style by winning both the JOG Cowes-Cherbourg race and the Cherbourg-Cowes Race.
Much of Friday was spe...nt bobbing in a wind hole in the middle of the English Channel before a Force 7 westerly kicked in after dark to power a heavily reefed boat and crew into harbour in the wee small hours of Saturday morning.
Sunday was a similar story with a gentle beat out of Cherbourg followed by a couple of hours of light winds with an Easterly building more slowly this time from force 4 up to 6 by the time they passed the forts for a screaming run to Cowes in the pitch dark of a cloudy night.
Hopefully the Nab Tower Race in a few weeks time will be rather more benign.
Hot off the press: The 2018 Impala Nationals will be held at the Royal Lymington YC from 13-15 July. Travelling bursaries and cheap lift-in deals are available for travelling boats - and it's the weekend after the Round the Island race, so you get two events for one trip! Berthing will be on the Dan Bran pontoon in Lymington, and it's looking like a strong entry and a great event. Entries will open soon. See you there!
Entries are open for the round the island!
