Caveat Emptor.
They do not stand behind their products. After two days emailing back and forth I was told to call customer service. Customer service had their bunny trail of a talking point and kept... to it. No real suggestions on how to redeem the artwork that was wrecked by it (I had always had great results before) but if I want a refund I can ship the product back to them (initially on my dime, though with the promise of a refund for that too) with pictures of the damage and a printout of the emails (because ink is cheap).
Yeah, I know, customers are idiots who must have done everything wrong. But this one worked in the craft industry for 15+ years and knows better. No more sales or recommendations from me, rather the contrary.
*Edited to add*
What makes me the most upset about this, is the manner I which I was treated; no real empathy, no conciliatory overtures, and an almost aggressively inquisitorial tone. It reminded me of dealing the insurance of the kid who used my car as a stopping device (he was texting while driving). Your customer service agent was bound and determined to pin the blame on me and accept no culpability or offer much constructive help, I was flatly challenged about spending 4 month on a piece of my artwork (My husband could testify to it) and generally treated in a manner shameful to any service industry.
P.S. I've found a varnish that will repair the damage on the smaller pieces, still working towards fixing the larger pieces.

Hi, I bought a Paint By Numbers a few months ago and during that time we moved from San Diego, CA to Norfolk, VA. We're a military family. Anyways, my husband was in charge of packing our belongings a...nd the paint pots to my PBN picture are missing! (I'm guessing the movers threw them away because they were considered a liquid, just a guess) I was wondering if Plaid had any replacement pots or a paint color list for the PBN i have. Im halfway done with the painting and now its just sitting in my house waiting to be finished or thrown away. Please help! i love PBN i have a few vintage ones and wanted to add my own to my collection. Thank you! Oh and these are the numbers on my box: 21798 box/chart CPSIA 2016/07

I emailed the contact on Plaids webpage but the response i got was just a no sorry we cannot replace paint pots and no there isnt a paint list we can give you. i saw where you helped someone with a kit made in 2014 and replaced their paint pots. I'm willing to pay for them i just want to finish the picture.

I entered a contest that Plaid Crafts was having. You know the ones you like their page and share. A few days later I was notified that I had won the drawing and they wanted me to send my address. I ...thought what can giving my address out hurt! I completely forgot about it. I came home from work one day last week and my husband said", This box came for you .It's from Plaid Crafts ! " I could not believe what all I had received , a Wilton cookie press with 12 discs plus 6 more Christmas disc, pastry bags, cookie sheet cookie rack Modge Podge, paint paint brushes I just kept pulling stuff out of that box. I didn't think these drawings were real because I didn't know anyone that had ever won one. This one was real! Thank You Plaid Crafts. See More

Customer service is nonexistent. I called to get two orders combined that would save me some money plus I wanted to substitute 1 8oz bottle of apple barrel paint for 5 2oz bottles and was told no way ...they could do this. I will never order from these people again. Also their site is NOT mobile friendly which is why I ordered the 2oz bottles and NOT 1 8oz bottle. Hope your company enjoys that extra few $$$ See More

The product line Gallery Glass is extremely inconsistent to the point that Plaid even has a form they send out for returns. Options for returning liquid lead are listed on the form. Too thin and too t...hick are just a couple of reasons given. Hey Plaid. Why don't you just get it right to begin with? You should not need such a form. Mix the product right the first time and every time and customers won't waste their time and money. Here I am struggling through another day of trying to create product to ship to customers because your liquid lead is pouring out like water!!!!! It's no wonder that consumers have lost interest in working wit this product line. You can forget calling Plaid for assistance. Been there done that and it does no good. Return product expecting to get a refund and you will be sadly disappointed. I returned 48 bottles and nothing. Huge waste of time and money. Plaid may have lots of great product but I would not recommend ever using Gallery Glass products. See More

I have a paint by number kit 21772. Because of medical problems the kit was in my closet for a long period of time. Now all the paints have solidified. I called the 800 number to ask the price for ...replacing the paints as I did not feel it was the companies fault that the paints had become solid. The woman who answered the phone told me I had to buy another kit as paints were not sold separately. If I can buy individual paints, why can I not purchase a complete set of paints? Also the woman I spoke with was not the least bit pleasant. See More

I couldn't figure out how to make a visitor post. I bought FolkArt metallic pearl paint and I'm so frustrated with it. I did 2 layers of white paint on wood, gave it 24 hours to dry, did a coat of the... folk art metallic and it left streaks, I did another layer after the first coat dried and its streaked even worse. I tried a foam brush and a regular brush and neither helped. Any suggestions? See More

I’m extremely disappointed in this company. It took me just over 2 months to complete the Courageous Voyage paint by number kit. It didn’t quite look right once I finished so I checked the website sto...ck photo. The paints sent to me were incorrect. Mine doesn’t look like the photo. I emailed Plaid and the response I got was “send the upc and a postcard size chunk of your painting.” That’s right, CUT UP THE PAINTING YOU JUST WORKED 2 MONTHS ON. Whether it looks good or not, I’m not going to destroy what I worked so hard on. I even offered to send pictures. All that for a possible refund. Gee thanks, what a waste of my time. See More

I called customer sevice to get a replacement chart for a lost cross stitch kit and they said it was discontinued and hung up on me when I asked if there was anything I could do to get the kit. I only... got it 3 years ago, how could have been discontinued for 7 years already? Not a fan. I won't be buying bucilla kits from them. Glad the one I have was a gift, but I would really like to finish it. :-( See More

Their wood plaques for painting have their large label smack on the front and when you try to peel it off, it shreds and leaves a gummy glue so you can't paint on it!
