Allan Brown demonstrates the processes he takes nettle plants through, in order to extract a usable fibre for textiles.

A Facebook group 'Nettles For Textiles' ...is available, for those seeking to share knowledge and skills or simply ask questions and get clarification on anything related to processing Nettles and creating textiles from their fibers.

And you can find all kinds of packaged herbs and natural oils in Armenian pharmacies, sitting inconspicuously on shelves next to conventional pharmaceuticals."

There are some big changes brewing on this end and would love your input. What is it you'd like more of? What have you always wanted to know/learn about plants, ethnobotany, herbalism, etc? If you could create your dream program what would it be?

Thanks in advance! This is an awesome plant-loving community!

Great opportunity!

Several ethnobotanists have done this useful (and free) course - apply by 15 July 2016:

This course draws on the expertise of scientists from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to provide training in the identification of plant families and in field survey techniques, and to demonstrate the latest appropriate field technologies.
