It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mr. Anthony Sonneveld, November 13, 2016 following a long battle with cancer.

Tony received an honor membership to ICNDT and will be remembered for his many years of dedication and commitment to ICNDT.

Condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Getting ready for the 19th WCNDT, June 13 - 17, 2016 - Munich, Germany.

During each World Conference, ICNDT presents awards to people and organisations that have made major contributions to NDT.

The winners are chosen by secret ballot of the members of the ICNDT Policy and General Purposes Committee, from nominations submitted by member societies.


There are five awards and the 2016 results are:

For a major contribution to NDT Education, Training and Certification
Winner: Mr Roger Lyon
Runner-up: Professor Anatoly Gurvich

For a major contribution to the promotion of NDT Internationally
Winner: Dr Mike Farley
Runners-up: Professor Vjera Krstelj; Dr Makoto Ochiai; Professor Vasily Sukhorukov

For major contribution to science and technology of NDT
Winner: Professor Tony Dunhill

For a major contribution to NDT Research
Winner: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hermann Wuestenberg
Runners-up: Professors Bruce Drinkwater and Paul Wilcox; Dr Valentin Kaloshin

For achievement of young people in NDT
Winner: Dr Alexander Machikhin
Runner-up: Dr Katy Milne
