Warmer, drier weather means taking extra care in protecting the City of Irvine Open Space Preserve from the threat of wildfire. On Saturday, June 24, the City’s open space partner Irvine Ranch Conservancy will stage a mock deployment of their Fire Watch Volunteer program. You may see volunteers stationed at Bommer Canyon and Quail Hill trailheads, and along Laguna Canyon Road south of the 405 freeway during this practice exercise, helping us all be better prepared for wildfire prevention.
