Coming Soon...Student Trustee Election
- Petitions available beginning Monday, January 22
- Completed petitions due: 4pm, Wednesday, February 14
- Election: 8am – 5pm on Wednesday, March 7


The Student Trustee is elected annually and serves as the student voice in an advisory capacity on the College’s Board of Trustees. He/she serves on the Student Senate and may serve on Board committees. The Student Trustee receives a tuition waiver of up to 15 credit hours each semester that he/she is in office.

REMINDER: Summer Pops Concert this Sunday at 2pm

Bring family and friends to enjoy this concert performed by the John A. Logan College Community Band directed by Bob Swearingen. A variety of music will be performed from jazz (Duke Ellington & Sonny Rollins) to classic rock (Chicago & Queen) to Hollywood (George Gershwin & John Williams).

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

EVENT DATES: Saturday, November 11, 9am - 4pm & Sunday, November 12, 10am - 4pm
AutumnFest is an annual juried event for handcrafted arts, crafts, and specialty foods. Annual attendance is approximately 8,000. Detailed information and the application are available at

• Students who attend receive a free “hacky sack” while supplies last (provided by “Sweat for Student Success”)
• Students get a free color-changing sports bottle by visiting at least 10 tables while supplies last. Bottles change from white to Logan blue when cold. (provided by Student Senate)...

• Live music performed by JALC Choir - preview their upcoming 1980s show

Message from our Red Cross Donor Recruitment Representative:
The American Red Cross has a severe winter blood shortage and is issuing an emergency call for blood and platelet donors to give now and help save patient lives.
o Right now, blood and platelet donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are coming in.
o Blood and platelet donations are critically needed in the coming days so that patients can continue to receive the lifesaving treatments they need.
o Blood and platelets are needed for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease.

The need for blood is constant – every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. In fact, each day, the American Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 units of blood to meet the needs of patients at around 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers

John A. Logan College will be closed for Christmas break December 22 - January 2, and will reopen on January 3. Have a wonderful holiday season!
