We loved running into #JARockstar and volunteer extraordinaire Laura Stoner from Greenspring Advisors today at the JA Company Program Regional Competition at the UA House at Fayette rocking a #JARisingWomen T-shirt to show support for her students!
For 13 weeks, Laura has provided business guidance to the young entrepreneurs of Hunity, a JA Rising Women company at New Town HS, but her volunteerism doesn't end there. On numerous occasions, Laura has been spotted mentoring fift...h graders as they learn personal finance and career readiness skills in #JABizTown.
We are very fortunate to have superstars like Laura who are dedicated and supportive of JA students. Thanks to Laura's mentorship, we are inspiring the next generation for greatness!
#Volunteers are a staple in any JA program. For instance, today Stanley Black & Decker volunteers headed into the classroom at Baltimore County Public Schools Villa Cresta Elementary to teach K-2 students about #finlit topics such as earning, spending, and saving.
"This is such a great volunteer opportunity. The kids were so smart. I know I taught them, but they also taught me a few things. I'll definitely be back to volunteer again," said Simon Seo, JA in a Day Volunteer.
...Volunteering is a true win-win and we are happy to celebrate these victories during National Volunteer Week!
