JSCE celebrated to open the new office in Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
After opening ceremony, the seminar was held . Dr Iwata and Mr.Masuzawa had keynote lectures.
Then we enjoyed site visit in construction of subway by SHIMIZU & MAEDA.

Reporting conference on the preliminary investigation of Kumamoto earthquake was held yesterday, April 27th, 2016 at Takeda hall of Tokyo university. 300 seats were full and more than 300 people watched the conference via You Tube.

Kumamoto City, Mashiki Village, Tamana City, Nishihara Village, Ushiki City.
Magnitude 6.5 (current estimation)
Strike-slip faulting at shallow depth
Focal depth 11 km

2.Main earthquake occurred on April 16th 01:25 PM(Japan time)
Cities subjected to seismic intensity 6 Upper:
Minamiaso Village, Kikuchi City, Ohzu-machi, Kumamoto City, Kashima-machi, Koushi city,
Mashiki Village, Tamana City, Nishihara Village, Ushiki City.
Magnitude 7.3 (current estimation)
Focal depth 12 km
Cumulative number of aftershocks is 165 (JMA 7th news on April 16th 03:30 Japan time)

Vietnam Bridge and Road Association(VIBRA) Delegation visit to JSCE
Representatives of JSCE and VIBRA met on April 14th at JSCE office and expressed mutual interest in building active technological
collaboration programs.
Representatives of VIBRA mentioned that the particular issues of interests are:
(1)cost effective maintenance technologies for roads and bridges, and ...
(2) methodologies to reduce traffic accidents.

VIBRA and JSCE delegations agreed to continue the discussions, considering future collaborations such as seminar and workshop focusing on those issues. The meeting adjourned with Mr. Thang signing the guest book and exchanging the memorable gifts.
