Bravo to San Francisco and Mayor London Breed for leading the way for the country in recognizing the value of science, medicine, and facts in combating COVID-19. We’re not out of the woods yet, and this has been tough on everyone, especially our local businesses and families, but if we continue to do what’s right we can end this deadly pandemic!
If we were watching these antics in a Third World country we would decry them, but not here & not now. With just 12 days to go before the election ends and more than 42 million votes already cast in the U.S. – 3 for every 10 votes cast in total in the 2016 presidential race – 12 Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans rammed through Trump’s Supreme Court nominee in violation of the Senate Rules-required quorum and while singing the praises of Judge Barrett’s commitment to the ...Constitution. And for what? All to take away your health care amid a deadly pandemic.
Those 12 Republican Senators represent 9 million fewer Americans than the 10 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee. If Judge Barrett is confirmed by the Senate, it will mark the first time since 1988 that a president’s Supreme Court nominee is confirmed in a presidential election year, and Judge Barrett will become the fifth of nine justices to be appointed by a president who lost the popular vote. She will also be the second justice to be confirmed to the bench by senators representing less than half the country.
Their hypocrisy, recklessness, and cruelty is an affront to democracy and humanity.
