Hey friends! It’s Jessica with JesKa Shoe Company updating you on the start-up business I pitched on Season 4 of ABC’s Shark Tank. First of all, I want to thank all my family, friends and fans that stood by me in this venture. However, at this time, I must inform you that I have reached a turning point in this journey. While I will always cherish the experience and the dream of the JesKa shoe, I must admit that this process has reached diminishing returns. I received so many ...positive responses to the JesKa shoe idea; I actually hung in there longer than I should have. But the time has come for me to close this door and take with me the experience and values it has taught me. As for my next step, I will say that the process of starting a business and nurturing it in its infancy is what I enjoyed the most and I certainly see many more opportunities in my future to explore commercial ventures. I will never think of this experience as a wasted effort, just a valuable learning opportunity that has provided a platform for me to grow and develop as a professional. Again I appreciate all the people who have been so encouraging and helpful in this process. I especially want to thank the Arkansas Governor’s Cup, Southern Arkansas University, and the Arkansas Small Business Technology and Development Center for giving me the foundation to launch my business. I want to thank the ABC network and Shark Tank for providing an outlet for businesses to gain exposure and create relationships with industry contacts. Lastly, I want to thank Daymond John for the support and mentorship he provided through this endeavor. One question I get asked a lot is, what is Daymond like to work with. I can honestly say he is even more genuine than he appears on TV and working with him has been a wonderful experience. I am so honored by all the fans of my idea for sticking with me. But it is time for new projects now, so I guess I will see y’all at the next shoe sale!
