As we celebrate University Day, our VC, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar beautifully captures JGU's #journey, reminiscing the #milestones & looking ever-onward, towards a great future together:
"I still vividly remember that very first day when we opened the doors of the university to the world. We had humble beginnings with 1 school, nearly 100 students & 10 faculty members. After 11 years, JGU h…as grown to 10 schools, 6500+ students & 730 faculty members.
It is incredible to see our campus today; but what is truly remarkable is that we have continued to maintain the fundamental values that shaped our #vision, growing JGU into a global university.
Even as a young university, we ranked among the top 700 universities in the world as per the QS World University Rankings 2021. We became India’s #1 private university & the #1 Indian University dedicated to the study of Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities. We are also among only 10 private universities to be identified as Institutions of Eminence by the Govt. of India.
The #visionary leadership & revolutionary #philanthropy of our beloved Chancellor Mr. Naveen Jindal made it possible to create such a university in India.
To the faculty members, you are the #inspiration behind our vision. You are contributing to #transformation by empowering young people. To the administrative staff, you are the backbone of the institution, the unsung heroes of our community.
To the alumni, we are very proud of you. We hope that the education & experience you gained will empower you to fulfil your aspirations in life.
To the students, we are delighted to have you join the JGU community. These are years of hard work, discovery of knowledge, fun & excitement in university life. If there is one thing I would like you to do, it is to allow yourself to be inspired.
