Had a really great evening here , my husband had booked a table for my birthday last night , unfortunately there was a mistake and there was no record of our booking , the staff were very apologetic, ...we were given a couple of free cocktails at the bar and a table was found really quickly for us & the waiters sung happy birthday to me when bringing out our desserts !
We were made to feel really welcome , food and service were excellent, we will definitely come back
Thank you !!!!

Delicious food. Great menu and choice of dishes. Service was excellent. Similar atmosphere to the original Joe Allen but on ground level and not a basement venue. The restaurant was packed on the nigh...t we were there. At the end of an extremely pleasant evening we came face to face with Joanna Lumley who was just arriving. Such fun! See More

We went for late dinner after theatre. We had no booking but got a table and was served with friendly smiles! Restaurant was quite packed!
We had starter of deep fried squid which was really good!
Our... mains of Rib eye Steak was cooked to perfection and I had Sword fish also cooked to perfection it was really tasty and a nice thickness as I find some restaurants serve a very thin piece of fish which spoils it! Would definitely go there again!!!
The waitrons knew their job and with each course made sure we were happy with our meals and didn't need anything else!

Service was good despite the restaurant being packed out. Didn't feel hurried. Chose the Christmas menu. Starter of Salmon and Crab was excellent. Unfortunately let down by very mediocre turkey - w...ish I'd gone a la carte now. Meat looked and felt like it was from a turkey crown that had been rolled and cooked. It was extremely bland. The stuffing was a slice off a roll of stuffing. Very disappointed overall. Won't be rushing back anytime soon. See More

For a former New Yorker traveling abroad, Joe Allen's in London's West End is a bit like home. Especially at the end of the evening after a show. With jet lag, an after-show dinner serving up the of America at a time when most restaurants are closing, Allen's side dishes of Creamed Spinach or Mash Potatoes goes great with Mac and Cheese, or Veggie Chili, or Chicken Parmigiana.
Joe Allen's is the perfect last night out dinner after a show and should not be missed.

Having gone to Joe Allen for many years, I was a bit worried that the new premises would not have the same ambience. I needn't have worried, it was just the same. Friendly staff, great food and pianis...t playing away. In fact it was so good that I went back the following day for breakfast and had a perfect Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict. See More

We booked on line via open table but on arrival no trace of our booking could be found though I had an email confirmation. They could not have been more helpful, found us a table and said any wine wou...ld be on the house! They looked after us impecably throughout the meal , and we had a great evening. See More

Fast, friendly service - food fresh and hot. The most delicious mushroom, walnut and leek pie with the best mash ever! Have not been to Joe Allen in twenty years - I’d say it’s even better now!

We were there for lunch for a colleague's 21st. They made an effort with a celebratory sparkler in his dessert and the food was good but the service was so slow. We sat down at 12.30pm and didn't get ...our food until 1.20pm. They need to speed up as most of the clientele in the area are from offices, and can't hang around that long over lunch. See More

absolutely bloomin brilliant! I had the breakfast bun - smoked sausage and thin crispy american style bacon without the artificial smoked flavour you often get here in the uk, scrambled eggs like cl...ouds on a lovely bun. It was a taste explosion. Fab place, fab staff. On my list for our next visit. See More

This place is unique: a genuinely warm welcome, and great service. The food is authentic New York and delicious. The ambience is fabulous, live piano jazz, and if I hadn’t got theatre tickets I wouldn...’t have left so quickly. My only improvement would be to have a better selection of beer. The USA produces some fabulous craft beers that would be more authentic accompaniments to the menu. Other than that, I’ll definitely be back!! See More

Joe Allen is a favourite restaurant, so I am somewhat biased. The location; ambiance; varied menu and quality of the food; and last but not least the superb accommodating staff are all a given. Cannot... fault it. At midnight on New Years Eve 17/18 there was an impromptu sing song led by the pianist who swapped to an accordion and sensed the vibe perfectly. What a star she was. It was low key and just enough to celebrate the in the New Year. We had a superb evening. I don’t know if J A knew how perfect it all was. Thank you. See More

It was lovely to go back to my favourite restaurant whilst in London for a night and was excited to see it in its new location. The restaurant was lovely. The food was lovely. Atmosphere was lovely. the wrong order delivered to the table and felt the staff assumed it was my fault - which it wasn't. How you can mistake flat iron chicken for a rack of ribs I have no idea. Still, after the staff seemed to be annoyed wit me the food was lovely. I would still come again overtime I am in london as usually everything is perfect. Just need the staff to learn how to react to customers and deal with problems in a better friendlier way. I would still recommend this restaurant to everyone though. Its still my favourite place to go when in london and they do breakfast too! See More

Visited the new location tonight. Was slightly nervous having regularly frequented Joe Allen's for the last 20 years. Would it live up to the previous high standards and value for money? I need not worried as the management have done a fantastic job in creating the same wonderful ambience, menu and service enjoyed previously. Looking forward to another 20+ years of visiting Joe Allen's when in London. See More
