ADOPTABLE - Jada is a Purebred Chinese Shar-Pei. You wouldn't know from all the wrinkles, but this lady is only 1 year old. She is a bit shy, especially at first, so would do best with an experienced dog owner.

Huge thanks to @barcsanimal_shelter & @thechasseur for making this Nala memorial card possible. This card will hang over one of kennels while a pup awaits adoption. ‪#‎animalrescue‬ ‪#‎barcs‬ ‪#‎justicefornala‬ ‪#‎baltimorelovesnala‬

I can't say that I am surprised by this but I tried to focus on Nala's memory and the fundraisers that we have done to help other animals out there while participating in this interview.

A big thank you to the staff at The Chasseur in Canton for hosting a wonderful fundraising event for BARCS in memory of Nala. We were both surprised and honored... when we found out BARCS would be the recipient of donations from this event.
Many people came out to remember Nala and were very generous. BARCS received a check for $1,000, so we will be naming one the dog room kennels in memory of Nala. Thanks to everyone for your support and thanks to Sarah Gossard for picking BARCS as the charity recipient of this event in honor of her beloved dog!

Check out some of the awesome baskets we have for tomorrow's event! Don't forget to bring your cash tomorrow so you can win some great goodies!!

I am very thankful for everyone's messages and comments regarding the verdict in Nala's case. I hope everyone can come out to raise some money for Barcs in Nala's honor. At this point all that I can do is continue to try to raise animal cruelty awareness and raise funds for the shelters and rescues that help so many kitties and pups. Come out and enjoy great food and drinks for a great cause.

While I decided against doing interviews immediately following the verdict, last night I met with ABC to speak about it.

A Baltimore City police officer charged with slitting the throat of a dog was found not guilty Thursday.

Thanks for sharing Alexis Holzer. If only we had this officer respond to Nala. Some officers show patience and understanding when dealing with dogs. Let's all remember that dogs can't speak so if they are lost, scared, hungry, or thirsty, they can't tell us. They are also protective of their families as in this story. Patience is a virtue.
