Sure they pay your people, offer HR and health insurance options, but when it comes to providing the most basic of accounting functions the fall flat on their f...ace. Then their customer service is terrible!

I've been trying for over a week to get them to fix their syncing problem with Xero and I can't even get someone to return my phone calls or respond to my emails. Their reporting is abysmal, you can't even pull a basic payroll summary report that could be converted to a manual journal entry. So here I am without 2 week of payroll detail in my books. The end of the month has come and gone and I can't submit my month end reporting because our largest expense (personnel) can't be detailed out.

I will never recommend your product to another client.

Update: Thanks to Jason Whitman - VP of Customer Success, my case was reviewed and I got the refund. Can't thank him enough for his daily follow-up, his underst...anding and support. Despite my negative experience, at the end I am glad that someone else in the company can make a difference and cares about the customer's experience.

Totally screwed up my tax return. I contacted them in March and asked them to refund my FICA tax, they told me I have to file with IRS directly, and it took them more than a month to issue a letter I needed to file my tax return with IRS.
IRS responded to me and said they have instructed Justworks to refund me. Only when I contacted JustWorks again - they asked to see IRS letter to me before doing anything (not sure if they were even aware that they received a letter too). It took them few weeks to look into the issue, they updated my status in their system for 2016 (why didn't they set me up correctly from the beginning - which is more than a year ago?); but regarding my 2015 refund - they said: It's now too late to ask for a refund. A company handles payroll: turned me away when I asked for a refund the first time, when IRS and I asked for it the second time, they said it's too late? Isn't it very irresponsible with your own action? It's not wrong to say you just stole my 2015 tax refund.
No one does that, even the government - it may take them several months to return my money, but eventually they return the money, they dont take it away like this company did.
Can somebody other than the ops team contact me or look into my issue? Where's the COO? CEO? Legal? How can you let your customer have an experience like this? It's not only about the experience or customer service, it involves money. How can anyone trust to use your service to handle the payroll when you can just steal our money with your bad operations?

Awful, awful customer service experience. Apparently I was lied to about whether I could use the system without automatically scheduled payments, and then was ...told after using the service for nearly a year that I would have to switch providers if I didn't use automatic payments and pay a cancellation fee. When I refused to pay a cancellation fee for *their* error, JustWorks stopped responding to me and refuses to close my account even though I have already switched to another provider. See More

I was very happy with using Justworks for our non-profit contractor payroll, which we only use once every 2-3 months. The direct deposit was very easy and simpl...e to use on both ends. Unfortunately, Justworks continued their outstanding free plan in December of 2014. Paying $75/month per employee is completely unreasonable for us as we only have 6 contractors and don't use the service for 1/3 of the year. Customer service did offer to "grandfather" us in for another year on the free plan, but we would still have to add this rather large expensive to our operating budget in 2016. We're going back to paper checks. I'm very disappointed in this decision. See More

Never answer the chats at anytime � First payroll went through without verifying bank account details, my routing number was wrong, I corrected it and it was such a mess, they didn't even provide a solution. I never experience such a bad service with payroll...

Great idea at first. Looking back I wish I would have done more research. Be prepared to pay $85 a person, plus debits out of your account randomly and they sta...te it is for fees to stay compliant. Even ordering a poster to send and have installed in our office, only to find out we would pick up the expense for this service and done with out us knowing. We used them for one payroll cycle, mentioning a few days prior we would like to cancel and they came back and advised binding fees that were paid will be charged since we used their service for one cycle.. Buyer beware, I would suggest using ZenPayroll and combining with Zenefits, and BambooHR for a fraction of the cost... See More

Very poor support. Start a chat and good luck getting someone to respond. So many bugs, with just about anything you want to do. Keep calling support just to ge...t apologies but nothing gets fixed. Simple thing as getting an employee added takes 2 days to get to help get it done even though they admit the issue is on their side. Been waiting for a quote on dental insurance for more than a month now. Will take my business somewhere else. See More

Payroll screwed us twice! First by deducting the wrong amount for state taxes and then adjusting the amount WITHOUT notice, resulting in an unexpected and ongoi...ng $150 monthly loss for our family right before expecting our second child. Secondly, by making us liable for the unpaid taxes they idiotically left off FOR A WHOLE YEAR. The insurance options were awful and we've encountered a problem with back end data not matching up to reality almost every time we've gone in, despite having contacted our "representative" to adjust the information at least 3 times. We have a nickname for this company: "NeverWorks". See More

I couldn't recommend a better system for companies small or large. As a startup company, it has made the world of difference for us.
