I love this song Aaron Strumpel and I wrote together!
There is love, love, love
Love is all around you
There is love, love, love...
Can you hear it singing
There is love, love, love
Can you believe it found you again
Wishing I was in Colorado today so we could sing it together for you on Valentine's Day!
Thank you Aaron Niequist for posting this beautiful video on Lent this morning. Do you feel like you need to refocus, start over, get on track, get in touch or simply slow down be encouraged, then next 40 days are just for you!
Will you join me in a Lenten fast? What will you be fasting from or submitting to?
I am submitting to nourishing practices (walking, tea, hot baths) in the evenings when I find my soul is most restless....
Guys! Ive been loving the February Poetry Challenge (thanks again Stephen Roach for the encouragement). Now I see the muse everywhere! It is a refreshing experience that I am enjoying very much.

This is Wanda B. Goines. At the time this video was filmed she was 92 years old. She calls this poem "The Gift Wrap & The Jewel". It's so beautiful that it may just bring tears to your eyes. Thank you to Kathryn Clausnitzer Wilson for this amazing video.
I’ve been doing a February Poetry challenge over in my Instagram account (@karlaadolphe) posting a poem daily!
I’d love to share them with you! It’s quite scary, actually, but I’m loving the challenge. I find my mind looking for poetic inspiration and opportunities throughout the day!
Here’s today’s poem:...
Which dirt holds you?
The soil of youth the sands of home
In flesh and heart most known
Or the land you’ve claimed with blood and grit
Bought to make yourself a name.
Which land calls you?
The plot with roots and seed and water
A place to grow and be
Or the landscapes yet to be claimed
whispering here you are free.
Which place owns you?
The known paths are believed
They are paid for and green
Or on westerlies that seduce you
promises of greater deeds.
Which dirt buries you?
The charcoal forests petrified
With forgiveness you’ve denied
The between places behold faces
Where souls can rest and bind.
I really, really enjoyed this music video from Justin Timberlake featuring Chris Stapleton, it's on 🔥
What do you think of this new song?
An anchoress was a medieval religious hermit, who for spiritual reasons took a vow to lead a Eucharist-centred life focused on prayer. These woman would position themselves as spiritual reference points in the midst of a community (as opposed to a true hermit who often lived alone in the wilderness). Fascinating!
Thi...s word, this idea, this physical commitment to live intentionally bent toward spiritual practice but ensconced deep within community is so interesting to me! I’ve been reading about it all day. In this season of #epiphany it is beautiful to uncover more of what my heart was possibly designed to practice. We must aim to intentionally live in this place of time and death as a counter melody. We sing and pint to the ongoing reality of what is alive and constantly being reborn!
Loved sharing some thoughts about my favourite day and my favourite word in the English language! Can you guess what it is?
Heading to my local Darkest Night service tonight, might even walk in the stillness of all this snow. How do you observe the longest night of the year?
