Hi everyone! Hope you're warm, dry, and have power! Due to the inclement weather, we're cancelling tonight's Fly Tying class. We're open til 7, barring any major changes in the weather, and we've got batteries, flashlights, and lanterns ready to go, should you find yourself in need.
My fiancé and I go here to get boots, as we need them for work....I agree with a previous post that stated people that work here are WAY more focused on socializin
g with each other than helping custom...ers. Every time I've went in there I have to wait on line for a ridiculous amount of time because the workers are talking to each other instead of helping the customer.. .and once you're at the counter whoever is helping you often doesn't know something and has to walk away for awhile or loudly yell to a coworker and ask them...it' s just VERY unprofessi onal and there always seems to be some kind of excuse for the behavior "Oh, the normal guy isn't in today...I' m not sure where it would be... *yells way too loudly for help* " Additional ly, we waited 2 months to hear any informatio n on the warranty on boots we sent back....de spite me calling more than once about this and being told I would receive a call back with info the very day I called. We drive over an hour to get our boots and other things needed for work from here...but after our credit from our old boots is used we unfortunat ely will not be returning which is a shame because we always like to support the local businesses ....
I went to Kenco to get a new string and a tune on my bow.Almost
two weeks later I get my bow back and its shooting worse then ever. After not being able to get ahold of the "archery manager" I was forc...ed to go to Dutchess Archery.Le ss then 24 hours later I had my bow back and shooting perfect.I called Kenco and spoke to the owner Bill and he told me he'd make good on what had happened and said I should have been treated better.Wel l.....he never called back.Terri ble customer service.I should of got 100% refund since I had to go somewhere else to get the job done right!!I'l l never spend another dime at your store. You should have shut down instead of Gander Mountain!! !!
Love to shop at Kenco's! staff are awesome and quality merchandis
Excellent source for outdoor gear. Unlike big box stores, Kenco are experts on the products they sell.
We have been shopping at Kenco for over 20 years and have always had a great experience
. They are one of the few outdoor stores that will take the time to fit you for a backpack, measuring your torso ...and checking the fit to make sure that you get just the right pack. Kenco is also the only store where we are routinely asked to stand on and then walk down an incline to check the fit of new hiking boots. Out of the store, on the Tuckerman Ravine Trail on Mt. Washington a week later and our whole family was happy with our new hiking boots from Kenco! Thanks to Tom and Bill for their help every time we are in the store

I have been shopping at Kenco for years until now, my daughter was treated roudly in the shoe department
last week but I thought "no we have always had good service" so we went back with her and the h...eavy set brunette in shoes was absolutely rude to us!! She barely made eye contact, throw the shoe boxes harshly on the bench, sighed and huffed under her breath and had horribly rude body language and we had to ask for help and she didn't ask if we needed anything I rate her a zero for customer service!! I was going to spend well over $200 but I will give my business to Montano's or The Westerner where I get outstandin g customer service from every staff person even if it's close to closing. Sorry Kenco but this family values customer service!!
Great staff! One of the best fly fishing discussion
s I've had at a "retail" store. These folks are down to earth and are experience d locals to the area. They will try to match internet pricing when po...ssible. Overall just a great experience . I will definitely be returning and make this my fly fishing HQ!
al and the gentleman put my kayak on my car and tied it down for me since I had a bad shoulder! Thank you again!
I bought a ski helmet right before a trip to CO. Someone had stolen the microfiber
protecting bag from the helmet box. The clerk said it happens, but you can write to Giro and have them send you one.... I asked why I couldn't have the one from another box, and he said "the next customer will need that", and it costs me money to get another one. Wondering why I wasn't preferred over the "next" customer. Very unhappy.
Kenco is my first choice for shoes! The selection is excellent but, even more importantl
y, the staff are knowledgab le, helpful, and friendly. I just bought 2 pairs yesterday, Merrill hiking shoes and ...Keen casual shoes. Thanks to Finny (for helping even though it was her lunch hour) and Randy (who knows shoes better than most even though he's the fishing guy) for helping me find the right shoes for my quirky feet. I also like other stuff at Kenco but its really unbeatable for shoes.
Customer service for my sneaker purchase was terrible. Under-staf
fed and employee didn't fit me for the sneakers, but assured me they'd fit because they run "small" Wore them for 3 hours, still look b...rand new. They wouldn't exchange them for the right size! Full blown retail mark-up with crummy customer service!
I like everything
to do with Harleys one of the best things that they ever come out with I owned a 55 Panhead at one time I sure would love to own another bike I can't wait to get back on the road aga...in got that fever going
The Archery Day Program was wonderful.
My grandson had a great time fir his first time.
Just bought a couple of kayaks from Kenco. What a wonderful experience
. I worked with Winter, who did not rush the purchase or try to upsell me unnecessar y items. Can't recommend the store enough!
Brought my boy and two friends for Technohunt
. Excellent customer service experience . We drove over one hour ang they are already asking when we can go back. Friendly, knowledgea ble staff was definate...ly the key to an enjoyable day.
