According to the Buddhist teachings, if we do not work to reduce the negative emotions through our practice, then we will always be unhappy. The negative emotions are the cause of our suffering. Whether or not you are Buddhist, and even if you have no religion at all, it is clear that anger causes you suffering. When there is anger in your mind, there is no way for you to be peaceful and happy. Actually, in terms of what is important to us, Buddhism comes later. First, we must recognize that we are human beings and that as human beings, it is very important to lead a happy, peaceful life.
