This is my go to place! Check out deep dish Wednesday for sure!� I'm a vegan and I've brought non vegans here and they loved it. Other favorites include their p...izza burger, buffalo grk burger, mediterranean pizza, and their cauliflower bites! I had Don make me some for my Nye party and they were gone within an hour! Its cozy but, they'll be moving into a bigger space soon. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the philly. Little too salty for me but, since everyone is so cool and I have more favorites, I'm not going to let one thing from their menu knock down a star! Don't forget to grab dessert! My boyfriend & I went to Kitchen 17 for the first time yesterday. We were aware of the Vegan Valentine from 12pm-4pm, however my boyfriend thought it'd be crowd...ed during those hours. So, he decided to bring me after 4. When we arrived, we were informed that they were closing soon. And on top of that, they didn't have much of a variety to choose from bc of the large crowd between 12 to 4. However, they were very welcoming! The best part, was even though there wasn't a big menu to choose from, the food that they did have was amazing!!!! We had chilli cheese nachos as an appetizer & burgers to go. I had the BK Burger & my boyfriend had the Double Cheese Bacon Burger. Now, my boyfriend is vegan, I'm not. But the food from Kitchen 17 was delicious! It's a small little area to dine, but the food makes up for the small space! Whether you're vegan or not, please try this place. You won't regret it. I went today for the first time for my vegan valentine with my girlfriend and another couple and all four of us absolutely loved every bite of food. The supreme... pizza, the aristocracy pizza, the mini nachos, the hummus, the spinach artichoke dip, the oreo pie and red velvet cupcakes were all fantastic. All of them. Every. bite. When was the last time you had a meal that EVERYTHING you ate was awesome? Straight up 7 items in a row. I'm not even vegan and loved it; you don't have to be. I just had a terrific BBQ cheddar burger and it blew me away! Best damn burger I've had in a long time! Washed it down with a vanilla milkshake, vegan of course! It's all about the food and this place nailed it!

I was here about a month ago and had a pizza and the spinach artichoke dip, both were amazing! Also the customer service was great. Very friendly staff and know...ledge about ingredients when inquiring about my friend who was a couple allergies. It's nice to visit a vegan restaurant with a nice neighborhood feel. Okay WOW, wow wow wow Kitchen 17 just blew me away!
First, let's talk about the customer service. Outstanding. The guys working there are so friendly and had a...ll the answers to any questions I had about the ingredients.
Second, upon arriving, a woman seated told us right when we walked in that she loved Kitchen 17 and that we wouldn't be disappointed, that she'd been going there for 3 years and said anything we bought we'd be satisfied with.
Last, the pizza. This VEGAN deep dish was pure magic. One of the things I have missed the most since going vegan is a nice cheese pizza that doesn't taste artificial. I hadn't found that until today. Honestly I think it could have fooled anyone, regardless of diet. If you are in the Chicago region, check this place out!! It is the best vegan pizza I have had, and I have had a lot. After all the hype I was expecting "wow". What I got was "get me to a shower and dose of tums". This place is filthy and the food has so much oil it's disgustin...g. I'm not vegan for health so by no means was I looking for a healthy, low calorie meal... but after two or three bites I had to give up and go to Chicago diner for comfort food I could actually digest. Once again we ate at Kitchen 17 and this time we decided to try the supreme pizza. It was delicious and of course we had to get the $3.00 nachos which are to di...e for! Best vegan food in the city hands down... the menu is undeniably fantastic, everyone who i have encountered here has been completely helpful and polite, there i...s no negative aspects of this place outside of the space but thats now taken care of with the new shop opening up around the block. This was my second trip here. I drove nearly 40 minutes to sink my teeth into their delicious pizza and nachos. Also love the friendly welcoming service. I took my sons and they loved it! Vegan life is even sweeter with places like this to go to!

This place is the best!! My husband and I just discovered it, and he had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and I had their gyros, and both were outstanding! The staff is also so friendly.. we'll definitely be back!

My first time here today and my goodness your bacon cheeseburger was the best I have ever had! Your nacho's were again the best I've ever had and I'm so full I... bought a Mediterranean Pizza to go for dinner tonight so I will let you know but I feel confident it will be the the best I've ever had! If I lived in Chicago, I'd eat at Kitchen 17 EVERY night- even if I were a meat eater. Everything I've had there was awesome. My favorite thing was this super m...outhwatering burger they had. But then I looked at the nachos the folks next to me had & thought I might try that next. It's kinda odd that they had a sign up prohibiting tipping. My husband and I came to kitchen 17 for the first time today and I must say choosing this place was great every dish we tried was amazing and we will be recommending kitchen 17 to our friends and family.

I've been here multiple times, and have always had great experiences. I've tried one of the burgers and multiple deep dish pizzas, and it is clear Don knows wha...t he's doing. Today I brought my mom, who isn't vegan, to try the deep dish and she admitted it was better than the food at Festa Italiana on Taylor Street last weekend. There is a difference between vegan pizza that tastes good, and vegan pizza that tastes like pizza, and the deep dish here is definitely the latter. Big News At Kitchen 17!

About 4 years ago I started Kitchen 17 with the intent of having a cool sandwich shop. A shop with some attitude, loose rules and good food. I feel mostly great about this quest. Its been successful for the most part. I realized a while back that to become what I'd like it to be, it would need to “be” something else, somewhere else. We have fought the limitations of size and space. We have decided to fight no longer.

Today Kitchen 17 turned in a lease... to a new space at 3132 N Broadway (the same block as Kitchen 17 is on now, just on the Broadway side). It is 2200 Sq Ft, with a full kitchen and full bar. We have plans. A microbrewery. The honest menu that I have always wanted to create. Real tables. Art, lots of art. To that end I announce that Kitchen 17 is now a partnership between myself and local artist, craftsman, Kitchen 17 prep wizard, idea machine and very dear friend Jennie Plasterer.

We will start the buildout this week and we plan to be open by April 1. We will still be serving up all our favorites here at K17 during the buildout. Stay tuned for some cool specials and previews of items that will be on our new menu.
