This is my second winter playing here and I can't say enough about this wonderful group of Pickleball addicts. The hui is made up of a mixture of permanent residents and visitors, like myself. If you ...come out to play here, expect a warm welcome and friendly competition that is as much about having fun and improving one's game as it is about winning. There are a wide range of skill levels within the hui so there is no need to feel intimidated if you are fairly new to the sport. There is a Challenge Court for the more elite players.
So if you are visiting the Kailua-Kona area of the Big Island, don't forget to pack your court shoes and paddle and be sure to experience the Aloha Spirit of the Kona Pickleball Hui.

Very disappointed with this pickleball location. Went for 2 days recently and will never go again. Not welcoming and very little aloha spirit. People arguing line calls, score, and service rotation. A...dvise visitors to try the Holua Tennis Club site instead. See More

Passing along the following announcement about the 2016 Hawaii Senior Olympics Pickleball tournament from our friends at Kauai Pickleball:

The Kauai Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that the island of Kauai will host the 2016 Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament as part of the annual Aloha State Games. This will be the first time Kauai has hosted. The tournament will be played Fri-Sun., March 11-13, at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, located in th...e town of Kalaheo. The Senior Olympics is an "open" pickleball tournament, meaning players may enter from anywhere in the world. This event is a qualifier for the 2017 National Senior Games. Play will be limited to the first 100 players. Contact Hawaii District Ambassador Jack Hodges if you have any questions.

Our 2015 Senior Olympics tournament was held at the Holua Tennis and Pickleball Center in Kona (Big Island of Hawaii). It was a huge success. The island of Kauai will strive to make sure 2016 is more of the same!
