For an enjoyable and educational time, visit the Lake County Historical Museum in Tavares. If you're thinking dusty, smelly, old exhibits - think again! And if you don't live in Lake County, find... your own local historical museums and check them out. See More

Yesterday was a fun day at the Museum!

While decorating for the Christmas holiday, we enjoyed a visit from Sherry Crane and some of her family. Sherry is this quarter's Featured Artist.

Next we had a surprise visit from Sam Barber (Blair Witch Chronicles) and his granddaughter. Sam has ties to the Woodlea house and he came in to get some photos of our Woodlea mural.

GREAT DAY at the Museum. Today was Deputy Dawg Day. Museum staff got to thank the LCSO for all the help and support they have given us since they moved into the Historic Courthouse a couple of years ago. We cooked Belly Buster hot dogs for them, along with some chips and a beverage for lunch. Lots of fun for us, and, we hope, for all who attended. We served 119 hot dogs!
