Pride connects us all – including businesses. After coming out to her family and friends, Jody Hall realized she had the power to write her own story. An entrepreneur at heart, Jody started Cupcake Royale in Seattle with a mission to be the most joyful part of a person's day. Today, Jody has 6 locations, uses targeted Facebook ads to reach new customers both locally and across the US, and makes a profound difference in her community and beyond. Every year the business creates and sells a cupcake during Pride Month called “The Gay” and a dollar from each cupcake sold goes to the It Gets Better Project, a non-profit dedicated to supporting LGBT youth.

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility, an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and courage of the trans community. By honoring lived experiences, raising awareness and speaking out against discrimination, we hope to empower those worldwide who identify as trans or gender nonconforming in their journey to live openly and authentically. This year’s theme is “More Than Visibility,” and we stand by the trans community and allies in the fight for not only recognition but equality.

Today is a historic day recognizing marriage equality for same-sex couples across the US.
In celebration of this and LGBT Pride Month, we’re sharing the story ...of Justin Kamimoto, one of many individuals making a difference for this community.
In 2011, Justin started a Facebook group to support LGBT+ youth in California’s Central Valley. The group has helped countless teens and young adults find resources and acceptance, no matter how they identify.
Tell us about the groups that have been meaningful to you.
Today Facebook launched a new optional feature which allows people around the world to celebrate Pride by updating their Facebook profile photo with a rainbow filter. Check it out at facebook.com/celebratepride.
In Facebook's continued celebration of Pride Month, our Instagram team worked with Miley Cyrus' non-profit, The Happy Hippie Foundation, on a trans awareness portraits campaign that just launched, #InstaPride. The goal of the campaign is to highlight stories and portraits from the transgender and gender expansive communities. To kick it off, Miley is sharing photos she took herself of people from around the country in an effort to give everyone a chance to tell their personal... story. Everyone has a story to tell and we want Instagram to be a place where people feel comfortable sharing their own - the attached blog post is from one of those amazing people, @isupersheng, a 19-year old film student in Michigan.
#InstaPride is an extension of the photo campaign #PridePortraits that we worked on with GLAAD for Pride in 2014. Our relationships with GLAAD and other advocacy orgs are really important to Facebook, and we're really excited about this new campaign.
Happy Pride Month!
