Planning to attend LUNAFEST Boise this Saturday 4/1? There are still a few tickets available (no fooling) but it's first-come first-serve. Online tickets sales are closed; the Flicks box office will start selling all available tickets at noon. See you there!

<meet the filmmaker> Theresa Moerman IB (Glasgow, Scotland): Theresa is a Scottish-based filmmaker & visual artist. Born in The Netherlands in 1977 to a Dutch father & Danish mother, she grew up between England, Belgium & Denmark. She holds a BA in English from the University of Southern Denmark & a First Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography from the Glasgow School of Art. Theresa was selected for the Catlin Guide, received the Adam Bruce Thomson Award at the Royal Scottis...h Academy’s New Contemporaries in 2013, was awarded an Artist Bursary from Creative Scotland & was shortlisted for the Magnum/Photo London Graduate Photographers Award. THE THIRD DAD is her first film, which premiered at the 69th Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2015 & subsequently won a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award & the Best UK Short Award at London's East End Film Festival.

<meet the filmmaker> Veena Rao (Brooklyn, New York): Veena is a director & producer - her films have screened at festivals worldwide, have been featured on publications such as The Atlantic & National Geographic, & have aired on the Documentary Channel & Current TV. She is an alumna of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts & a member of Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective, Film Fatales & the New York Women in Film & Television Documentary Committee.

<meet the filmmaker> Joey Ally (Los Angeles, CA): Joey is an award-winning writer/director/actor from New York residing in Los Angeles. She is an alum of Amherst College, the Williamstown Theater Festival & the AFI Directing Workshop for Women 2016. Joe received her film mentoring from Megan Griffiths & Lynn Shelton. Joey's films MINIMUM WAGE (wrote/directed - debut) & PARTNERS (directed/produced) have screened at Sundance, Palm Springs International Shortfest, Aspen ShortFes...t, LAFF, NBCUniversal ShortFest, BFI:Flare, Outfest & 40+ more. Her THE LA OFFICE won video of the year 2015 at WME/IMG. Joey loves crafting layered comedies of sliding darkness with non-traditional protagonists that make people laugh, cry & think differently - she's currently developing several projects including her LGBT feature THE BRIDESMAN.

<meet the filmmaker> Frederike Migom (Brussels, Belgium): Frederike studied theater at AADA in New York, performing in several plays & short films before moving to Paris to study filmmaking. After graduating she moved to Brussels where she started working in film production. In 2013 she directed her first short film MALAKIM which won the award for best fiction short in Shanghai. Frederike’s third short film NKOSI COIFFURE has screened at many festivals such as Tribeca, Vallad...olid & Flickerfest, so far winning three awards in Valladolid, Brussels & Washington. Frederike is currently writing her first feature film BINTI with funding from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund & it shooting a documentary SI-G.

<meet the filmmaker> Diane Weipert (San Francisco, CA): Diane came of age in Spain & Latin America & has worked in film for over a decade. Her screenwriting debut premiered at the World Cinema Competition at Sundance in 2006 (SOLO DIOS SABE—Diego Luna, Alica Braga). She has collaborated on feature film projects with Eddie Izzard, Michelle Rodriguez & Peter Bratt, among others. Her award-winning radio piece THE LIVING ROOM was named best story of 2015 by Wired & The Atlantic &... is being developed as a feature film. Diane is a two-time resident of the San Francisco Film Society's Film House, where she is in development on her feature BOYLE HEIGHTS.

<meet the filmmaker> Eva Vives (Los Angeles, CA): Eva is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. In 2000, she won Best Short at the Sundance & Cannes Film Festivals with FIVE FEET HIGH AND RISING, a short she cast, edited & produced. She followed that up with the feature RAISING VICTOR VARGAS, which she co-wrote. Since then, she has been working on numerous projects, including CHROME AND PAINT, which she co-wrote with Ice Cube. She was also one of four writers in Disney...’s Writers Program. JOIN THE CLUB was admitted to the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. She was also a finalist for the 2016 Atlanta Film Festival’s Filmmaker to Watch Award. Vives is a proud Sundance Screenwriters, Directors & Skywalker Sound Labs fellow & is developing her feature NINA, about a stand-up comedian who has to deal with her past to move forward. She is also a proud Sundance Institute Academy Nicholl Honoree.

<meet the filmmaker> Lara Everly (Los Angeles, CA): Lara is a director, actress & writer championing women in comedy – both in front & behind the camera. Her directorial debut, ME, YOU, A BAG & BAMBOO was awarded Best Family Film at the Canada International Film Festival & won the Viewer's Choice award at the Ovation Short Film Contest, which led to a televised screening of the film. Lara’s short films have played the film festival circuit, won awards & procured distribution ...through Shorts HD, Snag Films & Oprah.com. She loves directing comedy, partnering with companies like FunnyorDie, Comediva, Hello Giggles & College Humor. Web Series work includes LOVE HANDLES for FunnyorDie & a music-video web series called THE QUEUE for PopularTV. She most recently directed a musical comedy pilot called PATRIETTES about a mock government summer camp for teenage girls. Lara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from Wesleyan University (CT) & is a graduate of Upright Citizen's Brigade.
