The longest day of the year for the worlds longest necked land mammal! Happy first day of summer and Happy World Giraffe Day! We had an amazing day and so many fantastic zoo members and guests fed Murphy today for the first time! Don't forget that 100% of giraffe feeding revenue is being donated to the Giraffe Conservation Fund (www.giraffeconservation.org/) through the month of June! See you all at the zoo soon!

We are members of the zoo. Its smaller size makes it an easy place to take the kids for some fun for a few hours. My younger daughter, seven, enjoys feeding the animals (giraffe, birds). The food c...oncessions can get backed up on busy days, so it’s a good idea to bring your food and eat in picnic areas or at other locations around the preserve. Great hiking trails can also be part of the adventure! I highly recommend it. Another benefit of being a member is that you can visit other close-by zoos of similar size, like Hershey, as part of your membership. See More

If I could rate it 0 stars I would! We went through the conditions to visit the winter lights tonight. There was no sign posted at the entrance of the road that it was closed. Instead, there was a pa...rking lot full of cars and people very confused as to why they weren’t able to get in. The road was especially snowy and with kids in the car, quite a feat to get through. However, once you’re on the road, you have no choice. No one was at the zoo entrance either to speak with customers as to why it was closed. The Facebook page states that it was due to winter road conditions and yet you let the general public travel those roads by having your road gates open. Also, not everyone checks a Facebook page before traveling to the event. For future, pairing a closed sign on your main signs by the road would be helpful. Rating you a 0 Stars for your very poor customer service as well as not being able to participate in the event! See More

I’ve been going to this zoo since I was a child and it was called Trexler Game Preserve. Not much has changed. It’s small, has a nice play area for kids, and doesn’t take long to go through so it’s ...perfect for little ones. My only complaint is what they charge for concessions but I know they need to make money. All in All a nice place for a short visit. See More

Stay away people!!!
Last Saturday we planned on taking the kids to the Lehigh Valley Zoo Christmas light event..I called at 3pm and confirmed they planned to open. On arrival we learned they closed. ... Extremely bummed! Holly was very upset. While I understand disappointment is a part of life.. try explaining that to an autistic little girl.....Yesterday we tried again... I called multiple times on the way to the zoo. I was told serveral times that the VP said they would open. I even called at 4pm and they said they would definitely open. We sat in hours of traffic and when we arrived the gate was closed. They made a last minute decision to close. I will never return to that zoo. See More

We went last year and enjoyed it. Decided to go again this year. It is a pretty quick walk through, about a half an hour. My recommendation is to go after Christmas due to smaller crowds, at least dur...ing the week. Go as early as possible. You can hang out and do smores by the fire and they have the frozen shows if you want to spend a little more time there. We enjoyed a nice cup of hot cocoa while walking around. See More

I contacted your zoo today by telephone to inquire about tickets. I was having issues with purchasing tickets online. I was advised to arrive before 5 PM in order to avoid waiting in line to get into ...the parking lot. I could then purchase tickets in person. My friend, who was coming with me, was able to pre purchase tickets so she went ahead and purchase tickets for my family and I as well. We traveled from Hunterdon County and on arrival there was a sign saying the zoo was closed due to inclement weather. I was NEVER advised over the phone that the zoo could potentially close. I called about 3 PM. Your website failed to state the zoo was closed due to inclement weather. This was the only day my husband could come with us so we could spend time as a family due to his work schedule. This was completely unacceptable and a waste of time. We traveled 1.5 hours each way. This was poor customer service skills and completely unprofessional to fail to notify guests over the phone and on your website that the facility was closed. I’ll be calling on Monday to follow up. We came yesterday on free admission day. We had to kinda rush through because we weren't aware that no food stations were open . My kids had a blast and could have stayed longer. There were quite a fe...w animals for a smaller zoo. We were there about 90 minutes. We would like to come back when it is warmer. It looks like they have paddle boating in the summer? See More

Had a great time with family at the winter lights. I do think $14 for anyone over 11 is a bit much on weekends. I think you should offer family 4 paks or Lower the price - took 11 of us an hour to wa...lk thru and the kids had hot chocolate, s’mores and got pictures with Olaf and saw Elsa. (So it wasn’t as if we walked quickly-) See More

Kids loved it and it truly was beautiful but the admission was expensive and we were blown away with what they were charging to roast marshmallows! $4 for a small bag with a graham cracker and small ...piece of chocolate and ONE marshmallow! Did it once, won’t be back unless I hit the lottery! See More

Have been going here since I was a kid. The Christmas lights is a great touch to the holiday season. Sure you might sit in traffic a little bit then the zoo is on some tiny roads that can't accommodat...e the amount of traffic. Major kudos to the live Elsa performer preforming in freezing cold conditions with a light costume on. See More

Great place for people to go and spend some time looking at the animals. Not a huge place so you won’t be there all day. Me and my wife go about 3 times a year. The wolves are our favorite. We’re usua...lly there for an hour. We live in Phillipsburg NJ so we make an afternoon out of it. We eat at the diner on Rt. 309 on the way home. Also when you leave the zoo there’s a bridge that you drive over that has water running over it. Only your tires get wet though. Then there’s a nice scenic ride for about 20 minutes where you see Bison and Elk before you get back out onto the main road. See More

Took us over an hour to get into the zoo. At that point your stuck can't get out it's only one lane. Stood in line for god knows how long. They have 2 booths to purchase tickets. Waste of money we... had less then an hour. See More

Although our family has been to the zoo numerous times, this was the first time to see the winter lights. Our family had a great time. We all loved the fire pits, where you could warm yourself. The l...ight displays were fantastic! We will definitely make this a new family tradition in the coming years. See More

As a volunteer at the zoo, I had such an amazing experience. I did not think I would love all of the animals as much as I would before coming. This is a truly unique experience that anyone should expe...rience. I learn a lot about giraffes, kangourous and goats. Everyone makes the zoo a great experience, and if you have a question or concern, there would always be someone to help. I recommend the zoo to all of you out there and the price are reasonable. My wife and I dined with Murphy and Tatu last night. Totally awesome experience!! The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was great and plentiful. Tatu was as cute as ex...pected and Murphy was tall, handsome and photogenic (and he obviously knows it 😃). I and especially my wife love giraffes. We learned a lot more about them. We couldn’t have been more pleased. It’s a unique experience and also helps support conservation efforts. We can’t wait for the opportunity to do it again. See More
