After beeing on the Architecture Biennale in Venice for 4 times in a row and being usually quite disappointed in the works presented (not in the Biennale itself...), this year I have to say it was a pleasant surprise to see that finally the Biennale was about architecture and its real purpose, helping people, improving societies and making a change. Thank you Alejandro Aravena for starting a change in the perception of what architecture should be. See More

La Biennale di Venezia is pleased to host the presentation
of the book by Francesco Garofalo WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO ITALIAN ARCHITECTURE? by Francesco Garofalo. The volume, curated by Mario Lupano, collects essays and short texts written by theorist and Professor of architecture, recently deceased, on central issues of contemporary Italian architecture.

Francesco Garofalo, Professor at Venice University and Chieti-Pescara University, was curator of the Italian Pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2008. "The context of my writing - said Garofalo - is my personal research as an architect, which for me means making architecture by writing, rather than write about architecture ".

Ryo Murakami, Silver Lion for Music.

His productions consist in a combination of diverse cultures and genres: alternative dance music and contemporary classical music, atmospheric ambient, noise and drone.

23 OFF #1 on October 7th has featured the multi-media performance THE WALL by Ryo Murakami, the extraordinary Japanese talent, with live images by Tatsuya Fujimoto.

THE WALL is the first of eight tracks on the album DEIST, released in 2015 by Bedouin Records (Murakami’s second LP following DEPTH OF DECAY for the eponymous label in 2013). Its dark and obsessive tone is reminiscent of Lustmord’s dark ambient, of the music of Harold Budd and the drone doom metal of Sunn O))) and of, in a different domain, the horror stories of manga illustrator and scriptwriter Junij Itō.
