For the final social of term 2 we're heading to Study Rooms to take on our second pub quiz as a club...
Come join in as it is a really good pub quiz and it will be a good laugh. The quiz starts at 9pm but plan is to meet there at 8:30 to get drinks and stuff before hand. The quiz normally finishes at about 11:15

Hope to see as many people there to help us win!

Hi all, just to confirm tomorrow’s race is going ahead as of this evening. Apart from the cold, there are no extreme conditions forecast before the event.

Please only travel if it is safe to do so

Thanks ...

This is LUCC's annual hustings where all exec positions for the following academic year will be elected. Everyone applying for a role will need to speak briefly to the group and may be required to answer questions. Even if you are not intending on standing for a position, it is still important to attend the event in order to have your say in the running of the club. The following positions, listed here with their current incumbent, are available:

President - Tom McCann
Road C...aptain - Emma Marshall
Mountain Bike Captain - Sam Hinson
Ladies Captain - Emily Chilton
Social Captain - Rebecca Marshall
Secretary - Matthew Steddy
Social Secretary - Tom Roberts
Treasurer.- Wilf Sargeant
Health and Safety Captain - Danny Taylor

If you would like to apply for any roll and have any questions please contact a current member of exec. All elections will be decided using a majoritarian voting system. After the hustings there will be a social that will end in sugar where any positions where the voting has ended in a tie will be decided by a dance off.

This is the week that LUCC takes on the Tour De France... wait.. that's not right.. - the Tour De Lancaster!

It's going to be a big bar crawl around the finest bars Lancaster has to offer (not many then). The most likely route will be
- Pendle Witch
- Spoons...
- Chupito (for those ridiculously cheap tripple's)
- Crafty
- Mint
- Sugarhouse*
- Possibly Yorkies after stamps
* Guestlist has been CONFIRMED for Sugar, we need to be at the back entrance no later than 11:30 to take advantage of the free entry!

Unfortunately I am not going to be having a good week this week and have a lot on so I have decided to place the previous social sec, Alex (Can't) Hackett Evans in charge of this social.. Apologies that I can't make it.

Much Love,
Your beloved Social Sec. xox

Spring Crit 3/3/18 Update:

4th Cat, 3/4 and E/1/2
The event will go ahead, timings as usual. The circuit is clear. We reserve the right to cancel at late notice if there is further snow, although none is forecast.

Please do not travel if it is unsafe to do so

The race has been cancelled due to the low numbers planning to attend. You are more than welcome to ride in the other races!

Update for tomorrow's event:

There will be a track inspection early this evening (Friday) to determine if the track is (at that time) safe enough to race. We will post an update by 7:30 pm.

PLEASE NOTE: We currently only have one entry for the women's E1234 race. That race will be cancelled (even if the others run) unless we get commitments from 10 women that they will turn up and race. Please share in your networks! And only say you'll come if you mean it! If all the races are on then the officials will be stood out in the cold for around 5 hours tomorrow, so would prefer to reduce that time if there are not enough entrants to form the first race.

Had a few concerns about the current weather situation and whether the first of our Salt Ayre events will go ahead on Saturday. The track will be inspected on Friday and Saturday morning. At the moment, there is no further snow forecast.

A decision will be posted here on Saturday morning by 11:30AM

Fingers crossed......
Tom McCann

It's a classic - definitely not one to miss. We'll be digging out the old inner tubes (hopefully we'll have enough) and pairing up people at random as Wednesday night is the turns of LUCC's take on 'cable tie social'.

Meet at Spoons where you will be joined to a partner by inner tube and you have to make it to Sugar at least with your partner still by your side! It's not that hard to do... at least me and Sam Hinson managed it last time...

We'll do the normal route round tow...n with the possible addition of Sphere, and to Sugar where guest list is confirmed!!

Message me if you really don't fancy being paired up

Lots of Love,

Your Social Sec. xx

An unfortunate call out from one of our Club members:

I recently got my bike stolen from outside my house, it's a 2014 ridgeback speed hybrid and has been security coded. If anyone comes across a second hand ridgeback or knows of any second hand bike businesses/pages where I might come across it please let me know. It looks like this bike but the frame is black. Thanks!

If anyone has any information to offer please contact Lizzie Hebbert. We hope you get your bike back!

Our second weekender of the year is heading to Sheffield. Both mountain bikers and roadies will be able to come on this trip.

The mountain bikers will ride Wharncliffe woods and hopefully some of the clayspades stuff featured in 50 to 01 videos. As for the roadies, there is the peak district on the door step with plenty of hills to climb.

A ticket will cost you £40 which includes transport to sheffield and back as well as accomodation for the friday and saturday nights. are currently only 14 tickets available and will be sold on a first come first served basis so be quick. If the trip sells out and there are more people wanting to come then I will be able to get one more car going.

Transport will be provided by a van and multiple cars. For accomodation, we've managed to book an outdoor centre house so we'll have proper beds and showers as well as our own kitchen. However, you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and something to rest your head on. For food on saturday we can either get a takeaway or cook one big meal for everyone.

This will be a really good trip so make sure you don't miss out. Tickets can be purchased via the following link:…/cycling-5ce4/events/lucc-sheffi…

We're trialing an AGM for 2018.

Room is booked between 6 and 7pm. We''ll aim to get started at 6:10

We plan to announce our events for this term.

The new road captain will be elected. We have had no interest in this so far. Any society exec is an enjoyable fulfilling role to be a part of, so if you are at least a bit tempted, this is a great opportunity to have a go.
