On Thursday, March 1st, members of the League School's OT staff will be facilitating at a presentation for Education and Clinical Directors at the Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, MA entitled "Occupational Therapy and the Learning Environment: Exploring the Neurobiology of Behavior and Emotions." Lindsay Wagner, Ashley Kost, and Tracy Mello will lead discussions as participants will explore the basics of neurological functioning in order to gain greater understanding of the stress response and how it impacts a student’s availability for learning. Attendees will gain insight into how and why strategies can be use useful to help their students self-regulate while learning new tools to use in the classroom that specifically target the nervous system.
