2018 will be a big year with LOTS more NEW music that is on its way! We have already penciled in our bookings to head back to Sydney for the State Championships, thinking seriously of a trip to visit our good friends at the Golden Kangaroos, and already started planing for Band Spec 2018....
At this stage all class and rehearsal times will remain the same as last year.
Please ensure you have all the scores/workbooks required each week.

Looking forward to a great year of creating music.
Jeanne was so beautiful, in every way. Thanks for your tribute Stephen O’Doherty. Especially for including the GK piece from the Band Spec - it’s so incredibly moving.
Our love to everyone of our friends as we all pause to remember Jeanne.
Friends of the Golden Kangaroos, I am sad beyond words to report that our Associate Director Jeanne Hope passed away on Monday after a long illness.
Jeanne was... much loved by everyone in our world. She was the Director of our Discovery and Explorer Bands, played with our Senior and Stage bands and was a constant source of inspiration and collegiality for me.
She had a particular love of encouraging people of all ages to be their best selves and best musicians. Before coming to the GKs Jeanne had not worked with mixed groups including adult learners. She joined our band because she wanted to 'give something back' and be of service to the community. She gave in spades!
Through her beautiful character, patient and expert teaching, amazing (shall I say sometimes ripping, sometimes sassy) trumpet playing Jeanne's story has been woven permanently into the hearts of the Golden Kangaroos, individually and as a group. As one player put it, a golden thread.
For the past 8 months as Jeanne and her wonderful family faced multiple cancer treatments she also showed a grace, beauty and inner strength that is rarely seen.
We all hoped she would be back on deck this year, but it was not to be. She passed quietly away this week.
Jeanne was simply magnificent. Unique. I, and all at the GKs, have a deep sadness at the loss of our friend and colleague. She will never be forgotten.
Our profound sympathy is with Rhett and their precious daughters.
The Leeton Outback Band Spectacular is a special trip for us each year and Rhett and Jeanne were determined she would be there in 2017.
There were many fine memories from that weekend but perhaps none more than this moment from the Concert at the Roxy Theatre. It was Jeanne's suggestion to play this piece - it's a clever arrangement of the Last Post and Abide With Me.
It happened to be Remembrance Day and we played this in memory of the fallen. Please permit me to share this also in memory of our much loved Jeanne.
Until we meet again, vale dear friend.

When nearly 200 community musicians gather in a rural town something wonderful happens.
Something to read and ponder...
