Had a great time Thanksgiving '17 here. Everyone we came in contact with was awesome and calm during this busy time of year. The hostess, bartender and waiter were phenomenal. The dinner delicious. Very nice French brasserie with a lovely dining room and bar inside and great patio seating outside as well. A romantic place, with a traditional brasserie menu at a moderate price (for Marin!). The... service was a little uneven, not bad, but somewhat forced. My waitress was smart and kind enough to volunteer that the roast chicken would take at least 30 minutes to prepare, so I had to change my order to make a date on time. Can't wait to go back and try again. See More

Joellen and I consider The Left Bank in Larkspur to be our restaurant, living room, bar and clubhouse. The food is always beautiful yet not fussy and without a variance, dependably delicious and corr...ect. You will not find any surprises at TLB and that means chocolate mousse will taste like you remember it and so will the steak tartare, the mussels and the chacuterie. The menu follows the seasons and in November you will get Beaujolais Nouveau just as you will if you are in Paris. The room is beautiful. The habitue are as you would expect. If you are Frence, you must come here and if ypou are not but you wish to feel like a Parisian, do come in. See More

This is my go-to girlfriend lunch restaurant. I have found service to be outstanding. Wine list is very nice. We have our favorites (like the fondue and profiteroles) but honestly have never been di...sappointed. Yesterday we sat in front of the fireplace which was the perfect touch for a cold, rainy day. I've eaten at LB several times but 12/26/16 the service and the food were off during the lunch hour. Waited forever to be seated when there were open tables. We had to ask for silverware, bread..... T...o make matters worse, I got a bed tasting mussel which put an end to my lunch.

The only saving grace was the bartender who took on our table and was very attentive.

I saw some of the bad reviews. Seems like people don't know how French food is supposed to be. Food was great and the temp unlike one reviewer said was a perfectly edible temp my party of 7 was trea...ted well not over waited on and even the manager came by to say hi. Great place to eat. See More

We were invited to a wedding shower last July 30. My first time attending an event here. The wrap around patio was a good impression with alfresco dining especially on hot summer days and nights. O...nce inside the restaurant, we were greeted by a gracious host leading us to the party room. First thing I noticed is the clean and very spacious main dining room. Love seeing real table clothes, napkins, fine china, real silverware and clean glasses. The place has natural light coming through the big windows and it is not all stuffy. The bar is clean and well stocked with wine and tap beer.
The room were our party is being held is a relatively good size for 30-40 people. The service is fantastic with polite waiters. The drinks keep flowing with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It is a very kid friendly restaurant.
Food is absolutely delicious especially the hors d' oeuvres. We had a choice of Lamb Sandwich, Parisian Gnocchi and Seared Ahi Tuna Nicoise which I had. I will definitely have it again sometime. Last but not least was the divine Creme Brûlée. I am very particular with desserts and this one did not disappoint me. Natural light filters through the room but at that particular time not much since the sun is already on the other side. The decor is great and not overwhelmingly. Over all I give this place a two thumbs up! By the way this is located in the center of old downtown Larkspur. Thanks Left Bank for a wonderful dining experience.

Put our names in, waited for a an outdoor (Stella our canine) table that was ready (plenty of open and available seating). A white couple walked up (no names given or reservations) and they were seate...d right away, while we waited... Not that it took a long time to seat us, racial. Tarte flambée is an Alsatian dish, speciality of the Alsace region and neighbouring areas (northeast France, south Germany). It is made of bread dough rolled out very thinly. It is a peasan dish, just like pizza. The original tarte had a rectangular shape and was eaten burning hot and rolled. Nowadays, most restaurants serve them round. Typically it is covered with fromage blanc or crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and lardons. It is one of the most famous specialties of the region.
