This has been my refuge and oasis for 26 years!!! I’ve gone through phases where there wasn’t a film on their marquis that I hadn’t seen here. Did not love every film of course- but always a worthwhil...e venture because they’re so carefully curated.
Always a great first date -including with my fiancé.
It’s always been a comfort to know that this theater is here. Now I’m processing the loss of MY treasured Lincoln Plaza.
Thank you for all these hours and years of sharing the wonderful world of artistic film making with me!!!
Love,
Scott Burrows

Loved the movie that I watched last night - Loving Vincent. The theater crowd was amazing and made the movie watching experience even more enjoyable. It is a shame that the theater will be closing its... doors permanently in Jan 18. Shame when owners cannot realize a great product/service when they have one on hand. Wish they would have had the theater updated on a regular basis so it would not have lead to this final chapter. *sigh*
Will definitely miss this iconic place to watch meaningful, artfully created movies that are not produced with the horrid Hollywood formula in mind.

I am deeply saddened
28 years, I can't believe it
I can't believe the theater closed, end of an era for me. Aside from every indie film worth viewing, the sophisticated crowd, and all the famous acto...rs I have had the privilege of sitting next to while visiting this theater.....they also had the best Polish Ham Sandwich!

For years my Sunday afternoons were spent among the upper west movie buffs, I am a bit lost without it.

A terrible loss to the Lincoln Center Neighborhood

Very nice staff. Theaters are in the basement. They have mainstream, but also avant-garde films. Theaters are small with relatively small screens. The seats do not have head rests like the newer the...aters. Bathrooms were clean. Overall in was a good experience. See More

It is an absolute shame that Lincoln Plaza Cinema closed today forever because of the Landlords greed. I have loved this theatre for 40 years. New York is losing its charm, uniqueness and culture due... to corporate greed💦🎭🎬💦. See More

Can’t imagine my life and the City’s cultural scene without this gem. So sad and sorry about its closing 😢 A void. What a great loss... an end of an era!

thought it was lovely! going in, i knew it was an older theatre so i didn't expect the seats and setting to be what newer cinemas are like. with that being said, it was a wonderful showing, perfect qu...antity and price of the snacks, and overall just a quaint cinema! See More

The facility is old and worn but the staff is friendly and the films are excellent. A very well curated art house. Go and support this NYC institution.

We love this beautiful institution, and very much saddened with its coming closure. It will be a great loss for NYC 😥

Best cinema on the Upper West Side, by far. Perhaps the best in all of New York City.

An old-school art house on the Upper West Side, carrying on the tradition of the New Yorker, Cinema Studio, and other long-gone screens.

Lincoln Plaza's closure is a massive loss to movie going in NYC. I, my wife and many friends will miss it greatly. We should honor the memory of the lately departed founder.

The seats are stained and uncomfortable. The theaters have an unpleasant smell. Probably wouldn’t go back.

Always see great foreign films here. Place could use refurbishing, seats old and worn, but on the whole it’s an enjoyable experience

I enjoyed the movie, Loving Vincent, but I especially enjoyed the atmosphere at the the theater with no one talking. Folks have become so disrespectful of theater etiquette lately.

Heartbreaking to learn this literal underground indie-movie house will be closing soon. NYC can’t afford to lose institutions like these...

This is my go to movie theater. But my wallet was stolen there and it took me a year to go back. Beware
