I love the camaraderie and community of football (read = I like friends and I like dip.) I grew up in football watching homes, and continue to live a life where football games reign the TV in the fall. Honestly, I'm in it for the f...ood. I wanted to create a print that was an ode to the fall culture of gathering with friends and watching the big game. I hope this print is just the perfect thing for all of my football families out there! (And I really hope that you'll serve your chili with avocados from this day forward).

Truthfully, I’m terrible at self care. And I don’t wear that as a badge of honor, trust me. The honest truth is, I am just a terrible multi-tasker. I have tunnel vision, and it’s really hard for me to care about a lot of things at one time. There were seasons where I more prioritized taking care of myself because, in those seasons, it *felt* more beneficial. I’m results driven and goal-oriented. If I can see a direct impact/improvement from what I am doing, I will 110% do it.... If I can’t, it’s hard for me to invest time in it. A good and wise friend once told me “Lindsay, one of your greatest strengths is that you can turn something around or take an idea and achieve great results in a very fast amount of time. However, that is also one of your greatest weaknesses, because you expect everything and everybody else to function at this rate, and that’s just not possible.” And it’s SO true. This is where the self care comes in. If I don’t see an immediate positive result from something, I don’t take the time to do it. However, I’m realizing that self care isn’t about achieving great results fast. It’s more a protection plan. It’s mind-body insurance. It’s the practice of doing little things, consistently, that help you not to FREAK THE HECK OUT. That help you to feel like a better you, overall. I’m realizing that it’s not self-indulgent. It’s what just might be necessary to maintain the one and only body & mind God has given us. I’m at the very early stages of grasping this thought. I’m not even practicing it yet. But I AM at the point where I know that it’s time to work on this. Not only for me, but so that I can give my husband and kids and people I love the best me I can. There are many things we can’t control in our lives, but how we treat ourselves isn’t one of them. 🖤 How are you with self care? Great? Need work? Cheering you on, too! 😘
