From our Prairie Lakes District Superintendent, Pastor Steve:
I started this year helping lead up a Nazarene Compassionate Ministries project in my homeland of Puerto Rico. God placed the project “Los Reyes Magos Existen” ...(The Three Kings Exist) on my heart during my time serving with Nazarene Disaster Response 9 days after Hurricane Maria tore through the island. We shared with children and families in the towns of Maunabo, Yabucoa, Guayama, Arroyo, Humacao and Canóvanas. It was an honor to serve alongside such amazing people.
None of the towns we visited had power. Some of them didn’t even have water services restored yet. But all of them received us with hospitality and gratitude. In total we gave out close to 2,000 toys with the Reyes Magos on the week of Three Kings Day (Epiphany). My friend Eggy Hernandez traveled with us during those days to document the project on video. It is in Spanish, but for my English speaking friends he went through the hard work of adding subtitles. ¡Que los disfruten! 🇵🇷 #PuertoRicoSeLevanta #ThrowbackThursday
