I have a lot of my colleagues on the Council had kids that are my age. So when I was looking and seeing who's making decisions about the future for my kids that's. Why I wonder and I said I wonder, are we really eating running our young people running for city Council, not winning or are we've been running. My current Council I've ran for mayor, so let me make agency so either I was gonna run than our run six years from now when the other guy terms have so I decided to go Hey jump in one to 66 percent of the votes. First time painting toto. He is right outside of Dallas Fort worth um by 53000 residents. We have six Council members and the mayor some of the things that we're looking forward to city il suburbs, schools is still vibrant downtown transportation policy priorities and goals for 20 eighteen so I am looking to pass to paid maternity leave policy every new mom and new dad um should have payed time out to Spend time with our new child and minority women owned business, uh policy goal to make sure that somewhere on minorities are getting contracts with in the city since we do not have a coliseum records when I look back on my team here at the city Council and I hope that other young women were inspired to run really crazy um being on the city Council it's a completely unpaid position. You really have to have a heart for service um. You also gotta have family that's black Festival the job is flexible so I don't want those things to be barriers to women or other young people that wanna run their people of color.
