We're excited to perform for Stollery kids and their families at the 8th annual Dreamnight at the Zoo event this Friday -- our third year performing at this awesome event! Dreamnight is an international event that provides an annual cost-free evening at the zoo for children with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
Just finished running back-to-back weekend workshops in Camrose and for the Belgravia community. Tomorrow, we're in the studio solidifying our repertoire for our upcoming performances for the Dreamnight for Stollery kids event and Canada Day at the zoo. And, we`re getting ready to head to Montana at the end of June for a drum retreat with the Drum Brothers. Spring has sprung -- it`s great to be out in the community with our drums!

We're heading to the North Edmonton Seniors Association tomorrow to teach the first class in a three-session workshop series. Can't wait to see many of our NESA friends who took part in our past workshop series, and to meet new NESA friends!
We had a great time drumming for the lovely families from the Belgravia Community League, although we had to work hard to keep our hands warm and moving in the five-degree weather!
Thanks to the lovely residents of Belgravia for having us drum at their community league party today. We had a great time, even with the very chilly five-degree weather!

Give this a listen and let us know what you think! We have had the great fortune of learning some marimba patterns from Bongbiemi Nfor (The Original Tribesman). Some of you may have seen and heard Bongbiemi around town as a percussionist for Canada's award-winning reggae group, Souljah Fyah. Born and raised in the beautiful village of Binka, Cameroon, Africa, Bongbiemi never ceases to amaze us with his talent, patience and generosity.
We took this video while practicing in our studio. It features Josie playing the basic pattern and Bongbiemi improvising. We hope to create a fusion performance piece that includes some of the patterns Bongbiemi has taught us.

We had a fabulous time with the grannies. And, as always, we ended the evening with a lovely meal together after drumming -- it was a joy to include our newest member, Twila!
It was great to support the grandmothers for Africa on Sept 12.We did a short performance to get the grannies up movin' and a shakin' to kick off their annual provincial convention!
We are performing on Sunday, August 24 at the zoo. Bring your family down to listen to us playing some African-inspired music, check out the many wonderful animal exhibits and learn about nature's ultimate survivors!
